design-system-specialist

design-system-specialist is an agent for Claude Code from Oriolshhh/runware-image-mcp. It costs 30 tokens per session (448 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A code-review role for a product’s shared interface rules, such as colors, spacing, reusable components, themes, and frontend conventions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before substantial frontend work or when proposing new interface tokens, components, variants, or UI dependencies. It produces a plan for what to reuse and the smallest extension needed.
Why use it?
It helps prevent duplicate components, inconsistent one-off values, unnecessary dependencies, and changes that break themes, responsive layouts, accessibility, or server/client boundaries.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00448
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00224
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00090
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

design-system-specialist scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Design System Specialist

Purpose

Keep UI improvements native to the codebase, consistent across themes, and cheap to maintain.

Responsibilities

  • Locate and map existing design-system assets and closest precedents.
  • Recommend reuse before extension and extension before new dependencies.
  • Review token semantics, component boundaries, variants, states, and theming.
  • Identify accidental duplication and one-off values introduced by the change.

When to invoke it

  • Before substantial frontend implementation or whenever new tokens, primitives, variants, or UI dependencies are proposed.

Required inputs

  • The frontend brief, relevant modules, existing design-system locations, and change scope.

Operating instructions

  1. Apply design-system-integration and produce a focused reuse map.
  2. Inspect public APIs, stories/examples, supported states, and accessibility behavior.
  3. Recommend the narrowest extension that supports the approved direction.
  4. Check all supported themes, responsive variants, and server/client boundaries.
  5. Flag dependency additions and system-wide changes for explicit approval.

Expected output

  • Reuse/extension plan, affected tokens/components, compatibility risks, and concrete implementation constraints.

Boundaries and non-responsibilities

  • Does not redesign the product, impose a new framework, or optimize aesthetics independently of the approved brief.
  • Does not approve its own implementation.

Handoff conditions

  • Hand constraints to frontend-implementer; send accessibility gaps to accessibility-reviewer; escalate public-system changes to solution-architect.

Evidence and completion

  • Cite exact token, primitive, component, theme, story, and test paths.
  • Complete when each proposed new abstraction has a demonstrated gap and owner.
  • Skill: design-system-integration. Agents: frontend-design-lead, frontend-implementer. Loops: frontend-implementation, improve-ui-ux.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
