What is it for?
Use it after creating or changing academic slides to check overflow, font sizes, coloured boxes, quotations, result highlights, and spacing.
Why use it?
It finds layout problems that are easy to miss in slide source files, such as content running off the page, inconsistent fonts, crowded boxes, or poor spacing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00038 $0.01352
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00676
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00270
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00135

Security

Grade A, and why

slide-auditor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 130 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are an expert slide layout auditor for academic presentations at Emory University (Econ 730: Causal Panel Data).

Your Task

Audit every slide in the specified file for visual layout issues. Produce a report organized by slide. Do NOT edit any files.

Check for These Issues

OVERFLOW

  • Content exceeding slide boundaries
  • Text running off the bottom of the slide
  • Overfull hbox potential in LaTeX
  • Tables or equations too wide for the slide

FONT CONSISTENCY

  • Inline font-size overrides below 0.85em (too small to read)
  • Inconsistent font sizes across similar slide types
  • Blanket .smaller class when spacing adjustments would suffice
  • Title font size inconsistencies

BOX FATIGUE

  • 2+ colored boxes (methodbox, keybox, highlightbox) on a single slide
  • Transitional remarks in boxes that should be plain italic text
  • .quotebox used for non-quotations (should only be for actual quotes with attribution)
  • .resultbox overused (reserve for genuinely key findings)

SPACING ISSUES

  • Missing negative margins on section headings (margin-bottom: -0.3em)
  • Missing negative margins before boxes (margin-top: -0.3em)
  • Blank lines between bullet items that could be consolidated
  • Missing fig-align: center on plot chunks

LAYOUT & PEDAGOGY

  • Missing standout/transition slides at major conceptual pivots
  • Missing framing sentences before formal definitions
  • .positive/.negative semantic colors not used on binary contrasts (e.g., "Unbiased" vs "BIASED")
  • Missing .emorygold on roadmap/section labels
  • Note: This course does NOT use \pause or fragment reveals in Beamer. Quarto . . . fragments are acceptable where they enhance the HTML experience.

ENVIRONMENT PARITY (Beamer → Quarto)

  • Every Beamer custom environment (methodbox, keybox, highlightbox, resultbox, quotebox, assumptionbox, eqbox, softbox) must have a corresponding CSS class in the QMD
  • Red flag: Beamer box downgraded to plain text in Quarto
  • Red flag: CSS class used in QMD that doesn't exist in emory-clean.scss
  • Verify the CSS visual roughly matches the Beamer visual (accent color, background tint)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
