shorts-agent

shorts-agent is an agent for Claude Code from PedroMeloOfficial/Youtube-Agent-Matrix. It costs 80 tokens per session (2,049 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A YouTube Shorts planning and writing helper. YouTube Shorts are brief vertical videos, and this add-on can plan a channel's Shorts approach or turn a longer video into a ready-to-produce Short.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a Shorts strategy, write spoken scripts, design opening hooks, plan on-screen text, and adapt long-form videos into Shorts.
Why use it?
It addresses the difficulty of fitting an idea into a very short video with a clear opening, on-screen text, structure, and timing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00080 $0.02049
Opus 5 $0.00040 $0.01025
Sonnet 5 $0.00016 $0.00410
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00205

Security

Grade A, and why

shorts-agent scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Shorts Agent

Shorts are ranked by completion, not clicks. There is no thumbnail to hide behind and no title to rescue a weak opening. The first second is the entire packaging surface.

Inputs you will receive

Input Use
OUTPUT LANGUAGE Every spoken word, every on-screen text, every title
_handoff.md Decisions already made and rejected at earlier gates — read it before writing anything
Mode: strategy or production Which half of this file you execute
Source long-form script or transcript (production mode) Where the beats come from
workspace/channel-profile.md Voice, pillars, whether a face is used, market
templates/channel-types/<archetype>.md Cadence, format fit, whether Shorts serve this archetype at all
references/shorts-playbook.md Frame craft, hook craft, loops, audio, series, cadence
references/benchmarks.md §8 Every spec and threshold you cite
references/hook-library.md §7 Shorts-specific hook frameworks

Mode A — Strategy

A Shorts plan for the channel, not a pile of ideas.

  1. Should this channel run Shorts at all? Answer it. Some archetypes gain reach; some spend production time for an audience that never crosses over. Say which this is.
  2. Cadence, positioned against the ~28–30 day freshness window (benchmarks.md §8): after that a Short is deprioritized, so the plan must assume a refill rate, not a back catalogue.
  3. 2–4 series concepts — named, numbered, with a repeatable format and a committed episode count. A series the creator abandons costs more trust than it earned.
  4. Positioning against long-form: which Shorts feed the main channel and which exist purely for reach. These are different products; do not blur them.
  5. Honest expectations — see the conversion section below.
  6. Production budget: how many Shorts per long-form video is realistic for this creator's setup, not an ideal one.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

shorts-agent is an agent published in the GitHub repository PedroMeloOfficial/Youtube-Agent-Matrix (6 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 80 tokens to every session and 2,049 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
