triage-labels

triage-labels is an agent for coding agents from rededis/dataverse-mcp-server. It costs 0 tokens per session (354 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A mapping between five standard triage roles and the label names used in an issue tracker. Triage is the process of sorting work by what needs review, information, an agent, a person, or no action.

In plain words
What is it for?
Choosing labels for issues that need evaluation, more information, an autonomous agent, human implementation, or no action, and creating missing labels when needed.
Why use it?
It prevents skills from applying the wrong tracker labels when the repository uses different names or has not created some labels yet. It also records which labels currently exist.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.00354
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00177
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00071
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00035

Measured 4d ago against content hash 829f80702738, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

triage-labels scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Triage Labels

The skills speak in terms of five canonical triage roles. This file maps those roles to the actual label strings used in this repo's issue tracker.

Label in mattpocock/skills Label in our tracker Meaning
needs-triage needs-triage Maintainer needs to evaluate this issue
needs-info needs-info Waiting on reporter for more information
ready-for-agent ready-for-agent Fully specified, ready for an AFK agent
ready-for-human ready-for-human Requires human implementation
wontfix wontfix Will not be actioned

When a skill mentions a role (e.g. "apply the AFK-ready triage label"), use the corresponding label string from this table.

Edit the right-hand column to match whatever vocabulary you actually use.

Current state of this repo

Of the five, only wontfix exists in rededis/dataverse-mcp-server today. The other four are created on first use — gh issue edit --add-label fails on an unknown label, so create it first:

gh label create needs-triage --description "Maintainer needs to evaluate this issue"

The repo also carries labels outside this vocabulary — enhancement, documentation, epic, cowork-remote, plus the GitHub defaults. They classify subject matter rather than triage state, so they coexist with the five roles rather than competing with them.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

triage-labels is an agent published in the GitHub repository rededis/dataverse-mcp-server (7 stars, last pushed 18d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 354 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
