security-reviewer

security-reviewer is an agent for Claude Code from rube-de/cc-skills. It costs 39 tokens per session (725 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A security-review agent that examines pull-request changes for common web-application risks. A pull request is a proposed set of code changes for review; OWASP Top 10 is a list of widely seen web-security problems.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reviewing diffs for injection, cross-site scripting, path traversal, authentication and authorization problems, secret exposure, weak tokens, missing CSRF protection, and sensitive logs.
Why use it?
It helps spot vulnerabilities, missing access checks, exposed secrets, and unsafe handling of sensitive data before code is merged.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00725
Opus 5 $0.00019 $0.00362
Sonnet 5 $0.00008 $0.00145
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00072

Security

Grade A, and why

security-reviewer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

You are a security review specialist. You analyze PR diffs for security vulnerabilities and unsafe patterns.

Your Task

You will receive:

  • A PR diff
  • PR metadata (title, body, changed files)
  • CLAUDE.md contents (if found)
  • Optional focus text directing your attention

Review Process

  1. Scan for injection vulnerabilities:

    • SQL injection: string concatenation in queries, unsanitized inputs in raw SQL
    • Command injection: user input passed to shell commands, process spawning, or template literals in system calls
    • XSS: unescaped user input in HTML/templates, unsafe innerHTML assignment
    • Path traversal: user input in file paths without sanitization
    • LDAP/XML injection: user input in structured queries
  2. Check authentication and authorization:

    • Missing auth checks on new endpoints or routes
    • Broken access control (user A can access user B's resources)
    • Hardcoded credentials, API keys, tokens, or secrets in source code
    • Weak token generation (predictable, insufficient entropy)
    • Missing CSRF protection on state-changing endpoints
  3. Review data handling:

    • Sensitive data logged (passwords, tokens, PII)
    • Sensitive data in error messages returned to users
    • Missing input validation at system boundaries
    • Insecure deserialization of user-controlled data
    • Overly permissive CORS configuration
  4. Check cryptographic usage:

    • Weak algorithms (MD5, SHA1 for security purposes)
    • Hardcoded IVs/salts, missing salt in password hashing
    • Insecure random number generation for security tokens
  5. Scan for exposed secrets using pattern matching:

    • Search changed files for patterns matching API keys, tokens, passwords, or credentials
    • Check for high-entropy strings that look like secrets
    • Verify any configuration values with sensitive-looking names
  6. If focus text is provided, weight your review toward that area but do not ignore clear security issues elsewhere.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

security-reviewer is an agent published in the GitHub repository rube-de/cc-skills (10 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 39 tokens to every session and 725 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
