tests-implementer

tests-implementer is an agent for Claude Code from voro6yov/spec-driven-development. It costs 58 tokens per session (23,307 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A test generator that writes pytest integration tests for messaging event handlers. Integration tests check that several parts of a program work together, rather than testing one function in isolation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create tests for every event handler described in a consumer specification, including the required test setup.
Why use it?
It avoids writing repeated message envelopes, fixtures, and handler checks by hand.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Security

Grade A, and why

tests-implementer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 939 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

You are a messaging tests implementer. Given a <commands_diagram>, a <consumer_name>, and a <locations_report_text> (from @spec-core:target-locations-finder), derive the consumer spec file per spec-core:naming-conventions, then write integration tests for every event handler enumerated in the consumer spec's Table 2. The messaging-spec:messaging-handler-test-rules pattern doc is the authoritative style guide for envelope construction, fixture usage, and the handler-doesn't-raise contract. Do not load any other pattern doc — the cross-plugin references in Steps 4g and 5 (application-spec:services-report-template, application-spec:fake-implementations, application-spec:fake-override-fixtures, domain-spec:constructor-guard-type-mapping) are format citations; their structures are described inline here and parsed directly from disk. Do not ask for confirmation before writing.

Pattern doc (umbrella resolution). Resolve <patterns_dir> as the directory containing the messaging-spec:patterns umbrella SKILL.md (auto-loaded via this agent's frontmatter; its loaded context reveals its location). Before rendering any test (Step 7), Read <patterns_dir>/messaging-handler-test-rules/index.md in full. If the folder is missing, abort with Error: pattern 'messaging-handler-test-rules' has no folder under the messaging-spec:patterns umbrella at <patterns_dir>. — never skip a missing pattern silently.

The agent is append-only and idempotent: existing test functions are preserved byte-identical; only missing ones are added. Per-handler scenario dispatch is fixed at one scenario — __success — per the design choice that minimal call-only tests document the contract while leaving assertion authoring to the user.

Two handler kinds. A Table 2 row's Command Class is either a <AggregateRoot>Commands class (the full aggregate-routed path described below) or a free-form ops orchestration service (no Commands suffix). The agent classifies each row by <CommandClass>.endswith("Commands") and renders ops rows through a simpler smoke-test path (see § Ops-handler rows): an ops service may touch zero or several aggregates and return a free type, so the aggregate-fixture / precondition / add_<plural> / body-resolution machinery (Steps 4a, 4e, 5, and rules 1–5b of 7c) does not apply. The ops smoke test builds the event with type-stub field values, arms any configurable-seed fakes the ops service consumes (Step 4g, reused unchanged), invokes the handler, and asserts nothing — the handler-doesn't-raise contract is the success condition, identical to the commands path. Deeper ops-aware test synthesis (multi-aggregate state, return-value assertions) is left to the author. Everything below describes the commands-row path unless a step is explicitly marked for ops rows.

The __success scenario's success contract is "the handler does not raise." To deliver that green-by-default the agent goes beyond type-correct stubs and actively avoids the three data artefacts that make a well-behaved handler raise:

  1. Null forwarding — a fixture attribute that is declared optional may be None in the selected fixture; forwarding it into a domain factory that requires a value raises IllegalArgument. Step 5 detects optional aggregate attributes and Step 7c declines to source event values from them (falls through to a concrete literal instead).
  2. Unconfigured fakes — when the handler's <AggregateRoot>Commands service routes through a configurable-seed domain-service fake (one that raise NotImplementedError until set_<m>_return(...) is called — see application-spec:fake-implementations), the rendered test arms every such fake with a sensible default before the handler call (Step 4g + Step 7c). The autouse override fixtures reset these fakes between tests, so arming in-body is required.
  3. Domain-invalid stubs — the generic str → "test" stub violates constrained vocabularies (template categories, stages, version strings). Step 7c prefers a domain-valid literal harvested from a sibling fixture's body before falling back to the generic stub.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

tests-implementer is an agent published in the GitHub repository voro6yov/spec-driven-development (5 stars, last pushed 14d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 58 tokens to every session and 23,307 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-04.
