review

review is a command for Claude Code from abiswas97/gemini-plugin-cc. It costs 9 tokens per session (369 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A review command that runs Gemini against the current local Git changes and returns its review without modifying the code.

In plain words
What is it for?
Reviewing a small or large set of uncommitted changes, then checking background progress with the status command.
Why use it?
It separates finding possible issues from fixing them and supports either waiting for results or running the review in the background.

Command for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: allowed-tools in frontmatter. Also seen: names the AskUserQuestion tool.

Runs only inside its plugin — its command needs a path that Claude Code sets for a plugin’s own hooks and for nothing else. Install the plugin, not this.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00009 $0.00369
Opus 5 $0.00005 $0.00185
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00074
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00037

Measured 6d ago against content hash e7ae6417c674, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run a Gemini code review.

Raw slash-command arguments: $ARGUMENTS

Core constraint:

  • This command is review-only.
  • Do not fix issues, apply patches, or suggest that you are about to make changes.
  • Your only job is to run the review and return Gemini's output verbatim to the user.

Execution mode rules:

  • If --wait is in the arguments, run in the foreground without asking.
  • If --background is in the arguments, run in the background without asking.
  • Otherwise, estimate the size using git status --short and git diff --shortstat:
    • Recommend waiting only for 1-2 file diffs. Recommend background for everything else.
    • Use AskUserQuestion exactly once with: Wait for results and Run in background

Foreground flow:

  • Run:
node "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/gemini-companion.mjs" review "$ARGUMENTS"
  • Return stdout verbatim. Do not fix any issues mentioned.

Background flow:

Bash({
  command: `node "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/gemini-companion.mjs" review "$ARGUMENTS"`,
  description: "Gemini review",
  run_in_background: true
})
  • Tell the user: "Gemini review started in the background. Check /gemini:status for progress."
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
