About the project

Obsidian Mind is an Obsidian vault that stores notes, links, indexes, and other accumulated context so AI coding agents can retain memory across sessions. It is designed for Claude Code and also supports Codex CLI and Gemini CLI through shared hooks, commands, and vault data. Its catalogue add-ons package the vault’s commands, agents, skills, hooks, instructions, settings, plugin, and MCP integration.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.01219
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00609
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00244
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00122

Security

Grade A, and why

om-self-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Self-Review Writer

Write your self-assessment for your company's review tool. Produces project impact descriptions, competency self-assessments (current level / next level), principles, and growth plan — all within character limits, fact-checked, strategically calibrated.

Usage

/om-self-review [cycle]

Default cycle: current review period.

Context: Review System

Adapt this to your company's review system. Common patterns:

  • Evaluation axes: Impact (what was delivered), Competencies (skill demonstration at level), Principles (culture/values alignment). Customize the specific dimensions and terminology.
  • Rating scale: Common scales include Below/Meet/Above or 1-5. Configure per your org.
  • Audience: Typically your manager, possibly a calibration panel. Understand who reads this and tailor detail accordingly.
  • Your self-assessment sets the anchor — especially when the manager is new or has limited context.

Workflow

1. Load Context

Read in order:

  1. brain/North Star.md — current goals and focus
  2. perf/<cycle>/Review Brief.md — the full private review brief
  3. perf/<cycle>/Review Brief - Manager.md — what the manager has seen
  4. Previous cycle review — baselines
  5. Quarterly brag notes covering the period
  6. All competency notes in perf/competencies/
  7. perf/Performance Framework.md — evaluation structure (if exists)
  8. Key work notes for submitted projects

2. Draft Projects

For each submitted project (within your tool's character limit, e.g. 1000 chars):

  • Open with your role and scope
  • Cover impact dimensions: what was delivered, quality of execution, process efficiency, complexity handled
  • Include specific evidence: numbers should be factual (PR counts, team size, timeline)
  • End with outcome or significance

Decide all ratings at the end together — calibrate the full picture before committing.

3. Draft Competencies

For each competency, decide current level (Yes/No) and next level (Yes/No):

  • Read the level criteria from the competency note
  • Check each sub-criterion: is there concrete evidence?
  • If saying Yes to next level, every sub-criterion should be defensible — missing the primary criterion undermines credibility

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
