ai-coding-blueprint: Command for Claude Code

.claude/commands/commit.md

commit is a command for Claude Code from ikhanux/ai-coding-blueprint. It costs 16 tokens per session (279 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that writes a commit message for changes already staged in Git, the version-control system used to record project history. It explains why the change was needed and asks before creating the commit.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after staging changes to inspect the staged diff, create a message with the project's allowed types, and optionally reference an issue.
Why use it?
It helps produce short, consistent commit history and stops an empty or unintended staged change from being committed. It also keeps the commit focused on the reason for the change.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00016 $0.00279
Opus 5.5 $0.00006 $0.00112
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00003 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00028

Measured 1mo ago against content hash 62dfb2520486, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

commit scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Commit

Generate a commit message for staged changes.

Instructions

  1. Run git diff --staged to see changes. If nothing is staged, say so and stop.
  2. Write a commit message that explains WHY, not just WHAT.
  3. Show the message and ask before running git commit.

Format

():

Types

  • feat: New feature
  • fix: Bug fix
  • refactor: Code change (not fix or feature)
  • style: Formatting / visual-only change
  • docs: Documentation
  • chore: Maintenance, tooling, deps

Scope is optional; when used, prefer the page / module / area name.

Rules

  • Subject: max 50 chars, imperative mood, no trailing period
  • Body: explain WHY this change was needed
  • Reference issues if applicable

Example

feat(settings): add export-all-data button

Users had no way to get their data out without emailing support. This adds a one-click export that produces the same archive the support team was building by hand.

Closes #234

Guidelines

  • Future you will search git blame at 2am
  • If you can't summarise it, the change might be too big
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
