For each issue found:

  1. Show the file and line
  2. Explain what's wrong
  3. Show the correct pattern
  4. Rate severity: critical / warning / info

Check for these violations (use the go-best-practices skill for reference):

  • Bare error propagation (return err without wrapping)
  • log.Printf or log package instead of slog
  • context.Context stored in structs
  • Error comparison with == instead of errors.Is/errors.As
  • C-style for loops instead of range over int (Go 1.22+)
  • Goroutines without exit paths or lifecycle management
  • init() for dependency setup
  • Interfaces returned from package constructors
  • panic used for expected/recoverable errors
  • Ignored errors with _ = ...
