positioning-ideas

positioning-ideas is a command for Claude Code from stefanoskarakasis/Product-Marketing-Skills. It costs 0 tokens per session (175 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A command that generates three to five different product-positioning options, each tied to a named alternative and the unmet space it could occupy. It requires at least three alternatives, including the current status quo, before it runs.

In plain words
What is it for?
Run it when exploring how a product should differ from competitors or existing workarounds. It can identify near-duplicate ideas and direct you to map alternatives first when the required comparison is missing.
Why use it?
It gives you several directions to compare before committing to one message instead of producing minor variations of the same claim. The output is a disposable brainstorm and still needs a later review before use as final copy.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00175
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00088
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00035
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00017

Security

Grade A, and why

positioning-ideas scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Generate 3-5 divergent, ungated positioning angle options for $ARGUMENTS, each anchored to a specific named alternative from brain Section 3 and the unclaimed territory it opens. Requires 3+ named alternatives including status quo — hard-blocks and directs to hs-alternatives-map if that isn't in place yet.

Runs the full positioning-ideas flow: confirm segment (pulled from a recent beachhead-segment/buyer-personas session if one exists) → map unclaimed territory per alternative → generate options → check for real divergence, flagging near-duplicates → Learning Close.

Output is disposable brainstorm breadth, not shippable copy — the strongest option still needs positioning-messaging BUILD mode's 7-point gate before it becomes real positioning.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
