What is nyann:branch?

A command that creates a new Git branch using the project’s branch-naming rules. A Git branch is a separate line of work, such as a feature, bug fix, release, or hotfix.

Use it to create and check out branches for features, bug fixes, releases, and urgent fixes. It does not switch to an existing branch.

It avoids manually choosing branch names and helps keep branches consistent with the active project profile.

Invokes the new-branch skill (skills/new-branch/SKILL.md).

Positional usage

The skill decides whether the second arg is --slug or --version based on the active profile's branch_name_patterns[<purpose>].

When not to trigger

The repo hasn't been bootstrapped (no active profile) — run /nyann:bootstrap first.
The user wanted to switch to an existing branch (git checkout) — that's not this command's job.
