What is sync-upstream?

A Git procedure for fetching changes from the upstream Anthropics repository, showing commits that are not in the current branch, and optionally merging them. An upstream repository is the original project repository from which a local copy receives updates.

Checking for new upstream commits, reviewing the differences, and merging them into the current branch after confirmation.

It lets you inspect incoming changes before merging and reminds you to protect or commit local work first. This reduces unexpected conflicts or accidental loss of changes.
