fvtt-mcp-artificer: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

fvtt-mcp-artificer CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Txpple/fvtt-mcp-artificer. It costs 1,210 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for building a Foundry Virtual Tabletop image-generation server for Dungeons & Dragons artwork. The server connects to a local ComfyUI image generator and uses Foundry-specific terms and workflows.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing tools to create, review, and pass image assets to Foundry workflows such as actor art, journal images, or scene backgrounds.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents clear project boundaries, architecture rules, and handoff expectations while the project is being built.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01210 $0.01210
Opus 5 $0.00605 $0.00605
Sonnet 5 $0.00242 $0.00242
Haiku 4.5 $0.00121 $0.00121

Security

Grade A, and why

fvtt-mcp-artificer CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

fvtt-mcp-artificer

Local image-generation MCP server for D&D table art. Wraps a headless ComfyUI instance on this machine and exposes a small set of Foundry-specific tools so Claude can author prompts, generate illustration batches, curate the results by actually looking at them, and hand the winners to the Foundry pipeline (upload-assetset-actor-art / add-journal-image / scene backgrounds in fvtt-mcp-molten5e).

Status: greenfield — name and scope agreed 2026-08-26, nothing built yet.

Scope (binding)

  • Foundry-specific by decree, NOT a generic ComfyUI bridge. Tools speak Foundry vocabulary and get tweaked freely for Foundry work. Do not generalize.
  • Separate from fvtt-mcp-molten5e. That server is scoped to Foundry content authoring and must not couple to image generation. This server never talks to the Foundry bridge; the handoff between them is files on disk + the molten5e upload tools.
  • Same house philosophy as the rest of the family: tools do, skills decide. Correctness (workflow execution, dimensions, upscale pipeline, file conventions) lives in tested tools here; judgment (prompt craft, curation taste, which actor/journal gets the art, house style) lives in a later illustration-builder skill.

Hardware

DESKTOP-NY: RTX 5090 (32 GB VRAM, Blackwell — needs CUDA 12.8+ PyTorch builds), 9800X3D, 96 GB RAM. Everything runs comfortably; curation is the intended bottleneck, not compute.

Architecture

Claude ──MCP──> fvtt-mcp-artificer ──HTTP/WS──> ComfyUI (headless, local)
                      │
└── pinned workflow JSONs (draft / final / upscale)
  • ComfyUI runs headless in API mode; this server submits pinned workflow JSONs — never free-form graphs — with prompt/seed/batch/preset substituted in.
  • Tools return file paths; Claude reads the PNGs directly to curate.
  • Small server: roughly generate-image + upscale-image wrapping 2–3 workflows. Resist tool sprawl.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
