dblp is a skill for Claude Code from 0xmariowu/Autosearch. It costs 0 tokens per session (450 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A computer-science bibliography search tool for papers, conference proceedings, and journal articles. It can search by author, publication venue, and year.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find computer-science papers, look up an author's publications, search a conference or journal, and build a bibliography.
Why use it?
It narrows research to computer-science publications and provides citation details for bibliography work.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00450
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00225
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00090
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

dblp scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (methods/api_search.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Overview

dblp is the focused bibliography channel for computer science papers, conference proceedings, and journal articles. It is useful when the query is clearly CS-oriented and benefits from venue, author, and year metadata even when abstracts are unavailable.

When To Choose It

  • Choose it for English CS paper discovery, author lookup, venue lookup, and bibliography-style queries.
  • Choose it when the planner wants broader CS venue coverage than a single preprint index.
  • Avoid it for social discussion, multimedia content, or breaking news.
  • api_search queries the DBLP publication API and normalizes hits into evidence with external links when available.
  • Result snippets are synthesized from authors, venue, year, and record type because DBLP does not provide abstracts.

Known Quirks

  • Titles may end with a trailing period in the raw API payload and should be normalized.
  • Some hits only expose a DBLP record page while others provide an external DOI landing page.
  • Coverage is strongest for computer science and adjacent technical literature, not general scholarly search.

Quality Bar

  • Evidence items have non-empty title and url.
  • No crash on empty or malformed API response.
  • Source channel field matches the channel name.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

dblp is a skill published in the GitHub repository 0xmariowu/Autosearch (43 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 450 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
