api-security

A method for testing the security of web APIs, which are interfaces that let software exchange data. It covers REST, GraphQL, WebSocket, SOAP, and common authentication systems.

In plain words
What is it for?
Auditing API endpoints, JWT and OAuth 2.0 login flows, GraphQL queries, WebSocket services, object and function permissions, and denial-of-service protections.
Why use it?
It provides a structured way to discover undocumented endpoints and check whether authentication, permissions, input handling, and rate limits can be bypassed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00000 $0.01595
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00797
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00319
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00160

Security

Grade A, and why

api-security scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

  • JWT / OAuth 2.0
  • BOLA/IDOR/BFLA

Phase 1: API

□ Kiterunner / ffuf:
□ 检查常见路径: /swagger.json, /openapi.json, /graphql, /api-docs

Phase 2:

□ 弱 HMAC 密钥爆破: jwt_tool -C -d wordlist.txt
□ 过期/声明篡改: 修改 exp/iat/sub/role 声明

OAuth 2.0:
□ redirect_uri 操控 → 授权码泄漏
□ CSRF via state 参数缺失

Phase 3: 授权测试(BOLA/IDOR/BFLA)

BOLA(对象级授权绕过):
ID: /user/1 → /user/2 → /user/3
□ Burp Autorize:

BFLA(功能级授权绕过):
□ HTTP 方法切换: GET → PUT → PATCH → DELETE
□ API 版本降级: /v2/admin → /v1/admin
□ 批量操作注入: {"users": [1,2,3]} → {"users": [1,2,3,admin_id]}

Burp Autorize, AuthMatrix, Entropy (malicious_insider persona)

Phase 4: GraphQL

字段重复 → __typename × 500
GraphiQL/Playground 暴露 → IDE 公开风险

FireTail, Escape DAST, api.sh (Phases 1-3)

Phase 5: REST

□ HTTP 方法切换: GET→POST→PUT→DELETE→OPTIONS→PATCH
□ Content-Type 篡改: JSON→XML→multipart
□ NoSQL 注入: {"username": {"$gt": ""}}
□ SSRF via URL 参数: webhook URL/头像 URL/导入 URL
□ XXE in XML 端点
□ 参数污染: /api?role=user&role=admin

Phase 6:

□ Entropy compare: diff v1 vs v2 API →
□ 多角色工作流测试: admin/user/readonly 权限矩阵

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

api-security is a skill published in the GitHub repository 2233admin/reverse-skill-evolver (13 stars, last pushed 21d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 1,595 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
