design-setup

design-setup is a skill for Claude Code from a2ngerer/claude_onboarding_agent. It costs 55 tokens per session (2,278 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A configuration setup for the design-tool part of UI and UX work, connecting an agent with tools such as Figma, Sketch, XD, or Penpot. It can also configure whether the agent reads Figma frames through an integration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare design handoffs from a chosen UI design tool, especially when the project also needs a separate frontend development setup.
Why use it?
It clarifies which design tool is in use and how design files should be handed to the agent, without duplicating frontend, testing, or accessibility settings.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Fable 5.1 $0.00055 $0.02278
Opus 5 $0.00028 $0.01139

Security

Grade A, and why

design-setup scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

UI/UX Design Setup

This skill configures the design-tool layer only: which design tool the user works in, and whether Claude should read Figma frames directly via MCP for UI handoff. It intentionally does NOT configure a frontend stack, a testing setup, or accessibility rules — those live in web-development-setup and would duplicate rules if emitted here.

Run web-development-setup first (or alongside) when you also need framework-aware tool permissions, component / API conventions, or WCAG enforcement. web-development-setup offers to delegate to this skill automatically after it asks for the frontend framework.

Handoff context: Read skills/_shared/consume-handoff.md and run it with the handoff block (if any). The helper guarantees the following locals: detected_language, existing_claude_md, inferred_use_case, repo_signals, graphify_candidate. Use detected_language for all user-facing prose; generated file content stays in English.

Existing CLAUDE.md: If existing_claude_md: true, DO NOT overwrite it. Append a new delimited section at the end of the file:

<!-- onboarding-agent:start setup=design skill=design-setup section=claude-md -->
## Claude Onboarding Agent — Design Setup
...generated content...
<!-- onboarding-agent:end -->

If the delimited block already exists from a previous run, replace only the content between the markers; leave the rest untouched. Wrap generated .gitignore entries in # onboarding-agent: design — start / — end markers so /upgrade-setup can refresh them non-destructively.

Delegated Mode

This skill may be invoked as a sub-step of web-development-setup (the "UI/design tooling" branch of web-dev Step 3b). When that happens, the parent skill sets delegated_from: web-development-setup in the handoff context. In delegated mode:

design-setup is a skill published in the GitHub repository a2ngerer/claude_onboarding_agent (5 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 55 tokens to every session and 2,278 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
