brutalist-skill

brutalist-skill is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from aaronnat23/disp8ch. It costs 0 tokens per session (496 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A visual design guide for raw, dense interfaces that resemble industrial printouts, tactical displays, or computer terminals.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for developer tools, dashboards, monitoring screens, and terminal-like interfaces using dense layouts, strong typography, dividing lines, and limited accent colors.
Why use it?
It helps developers create a consistent data-heavy look when a friendly consumer interface would not fit the product or task.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00496
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00248
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00099
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00050

Security

Grade A, and why

brutalist-skill scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Brutalist Skill — Swiss Industrial & Tactical Telemetry UI

Use this skill when the task calls for raw, mechanical, data-heavy interfaces with terminal aesthetics. Synthesizes Swiss typographic modernism with aerospace/military terminal design.

Use when

  • Building developer tools, dashboards, monitoring UIs, or terminal-adjacent interfaces.
  • The design goal is mechanical precision and raw data presentation.
  • Avoiding consumer-friendly aesthetics in favour of functional density.
  • CRT/terminal, industrial print, or tactical data display is the target aesthetic.

Visual Modes (choose one)

Swiss Industrial Print

  • Light substrate: off-white backgrounds (#F4F4F0).
  • Heavy black sans-serif typography.
  • Aggressive asymmetry and dense data clusters.
  • Aviation red (#CC0000) as sole accent.
  • Structural dividing lines and registration symbols.

Tactical Telemetry / CRT Dark

  • Near-black background (#0A0A0A).
  • Phosphor-white text (#EAEAEA).
  • Monospaced fonts at small sizes, generous character tracking.
  • Same red accent. No gradients, shadows, or translucency.
  • Simulated CRT scanlines, halftone overlays, or mechanical noise textures.

Typography Rules

  • Macro: Fluid type scales (clamp(4rem, 10vw, 15rem)), extremely tight letter-spacing.
  • Micro: Monospace at fixed small sizes with wide tracking — simulates mechanical typewriter or terminal matrix.
  • No rounded or humanist typefaces.
  • No serifs except for structural labels.

Layout Engineering

  • Strict CSS Grid with visible borders (1px solid).
  • Zero border-radius on all elements.
  • Bimodal density: tightly-packed data clusters alternating with vast negative space.
  • ASCII framing characters used for structural decoration.
  • No card shadows or depth illusions.

Textural Effects (use sparingly)

  • Halftone degradation patterns.
  • CRT scanline overlays via CSS.
  • Mechanical noise or grain for analog feel.

Forbidden

  • Rounded corners (border-radius must be 0).
  • Gradients, translucency, backdrop-blur.
  • Decorative icons or emoji.
  • Consumer-friendly color palettes.
  • Smooth easing on animations (use step() or linear).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
