redesign-skill

redesign-skill is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from aaronnat23/disp8ch. It costs 0 tokens per session (661 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A design-audit guide for improving an existing website or application without changing its underlying technology. It reviews visual choices such as typography, spacing, colors, and layout.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review an existing interface, identify visual problems, and create prioritized recommendations for a design upgrade.
Why use it?
It helps find generic or inconsistent visual patterns while keeping the current framework and functionality intact.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00661
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00331
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00132
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00066

Security

Grade A, and why

redesign-skill scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Redesign Skill — Design Audit & Upgrade Framework

Use this skill when the task involves improving an existing website or application's visual quality. Works within the existing tech stack rather than rewriting from scratch.

Use when

  • A user shares existing code or a screenshot and asks for a design upgrade.
  • The goal is to elevate visual quality without migrating frameworks.
  • Auditing a project for generic AI design patterns and replacing them.
  • Producing a design review with prioritized upgrade recommendations.

Core Principle

Work with the existing tech stack. Do not migrate frameworks, styling libraries, or component systems. Preserve all functionality while elevating visual quality.

Step 1 — Scan & Diagnose

Identify before making changes:

  • Current framework (React, Vue, Svelte, plain HTML).
  • Styling method (Tailwind, CSS modules, styled-components, inline).
  • Existing design patterns and component library in use.
  • Tech stack constraints (what can and cannot be changed).

Step 2 — Design Audit

Run through each category:

Typography: Font choices (Inter? generic?), hierarchy gaps, spacing issues. Color & Surfaces: AI purple/blue gradients, oversaturated palette, pure black overuse. Layout: Centered symmetry, equal-column card grids, missing asymmetry. Interactivity: Missing hover states, no transition animations, no loading states. Content Quality: Generic placeholder names, clichéd copy ("Seamless," "Next-Gen"). Components: Card overuse in dashboards, modal bloat, generic carousels. Iconography: Default Heroicons/Lucide with no personality, cliché metaphors. Code Quality: Hardcoded color values, non-semantic HTML, missing ARIA labels.

Step 3 — Strategic Gap Check

Identify commonly forgotten elements:

  • 404 and error pages.
  • Empty states for lists and data tables.
  • Form validation feedback and error messages.
  • Mobile breakpoints for all components.
  • Accessibility: focus rings, alt text, color contrast.
  • Legal links (privacy policy, terms).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
