"躁性者火炽，遇物则焚；寡恩者冰清，逢物必杀；凝滞固执者，如死水腐木，生机已绝，俱难建功业而延福祉。"

I — 方法论骨架 (Interpretation)

偏激有三种：躁性、寡恩、凝滞固执。 洪应明认为这三种性格都难以成就功业。
躁性者火炽，遇物则焚。 脾气暴躁的人，像火一样，遇到什么都会烧毁——伤害关系、毁掉机会。
寡恩者冰清，逢物必杀。 刻薄寡恩的人，像冰一样，遇到什么都会冻杀——让人畏惧但也让人远离。
凝滞固执者，如死水腐木，生机已绝。 顽固不化的人，像死水腐木，没有生机——拒绝变化，也拒绝成长。
中和之道 = 不过激、不刻薄、不固执。 找到这三个极端之间的中道，才是福气的来源。
