omori-utsu-analysis

omori-utsu-analysis is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from agentlas-ai/agentlas-desktop. It costs 42 tokens per session (360 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A fitting workflow for the Omori–Utsu model, which describes how earthquake aftershock rates usually decline after a mainshock.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to fit one aftershock sequence, inspect decay parameters and residuals, and retain the event data, charts, tables, and provenance for review.
Why use it?
It requires the completeness threshold, time window, magnitude rules, bins, and parameter limits to be supplied and reports when the data are insufficient or the fit reaches a limit.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00042 $0.00360
Opus 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00144
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00072
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00036

Security

Grade A, and why

omori-utsu-analysis scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Omori–Utsu aftershock analysis

  1. Obtain one complete first-page catalog with search_usgs_earthquakes. Narrow the time, magnitude, or spatial query until pagination.completeness is page-complete; never splice pages or discard the raw/normalized receipts.
  2. Ask the researcher for the mainshock instant, inclusive observation start/end, the time after which the catalog is considered complete, magnitude completeness Mc, one exact magnitude type, fixed rate-bin width in seconds, and bounded p and c ranges. Do not infer any of these scientific boundaries.
  3. Call analyze_usgs_omori_utsu. Treat only status: complete as an interior numerical optimum. Surface insufficient-data and every statusReasons item. A parameter-boundary optimum is invalid; widen or scientifically revise the bounds rather than relabeling it.
  4. Keep the event audit, publication table, both Vega-Lite payloads, source hashes, content receipts, and overall analysis SHA-256 together. Zero-count bins are observations and must remain in tables and residual diagnostics.
  5. Report p, c in seconds, and K with its declared unit. State that the model is a single-sequence non-homogeneous Poisson fit and does not model background seismicity, secondary triggering, declustering, confidence intervals, forecast skill, or causality.

The host supplies Vega rendering. This plugin returns deterministic specifications and does not bundle a renderer.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

omori-utsu-analysis is a skill published in the GitHub repository agentlas-ai/agentlas-desktop (6 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 42 tokens to every session and 360 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-04.
