jpa-persistence

jpa-persistence is a skill for Claude Code from AI-Unified-Process/marketplace. It costs 203 tokens per session (684 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A workflow for implementing the database-persistence layer of a use case with Spring Data JPA and Hibernate. It creates Java entities, repository interfaces, queries, and projections that the service layer can use, while treating Flyway migrations as the database schema source.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build or update the persistence part of a UC-XXX feature in a Spring application.
Why use it?
It keeps database mappings and queries separate from business logic, user interfaces, and tests. It also prevents the application from silently creating or changing the database schema.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00203 $0.00684
Opus 5.5 $0.00081 $0.00274
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00041 $0.00137
Haiku 4.5 $0.00020 $0.00068

Security

Grade A, and why

jpa-persistence scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

JPA Persistence

Instructions

Build the persistence layer of the use case $ARGUMENTS with Spring Data JPA: @Entity classes named after the entity model, Spring Data repositories, and projections the service maps into records inside its transaction.

Scope

  • Consumes the Handover of the migration layer, or the existing migrations when run directly.
  • Produces the entities, repositories, and query methods the service layer calls.
  • Never touches migrations, services, controllers, views, tests, or anything under docs/ other than the Markers table of docs/architecture/stack.md.

Run Directly or from /use-case-implement

Run from /use-case-implement, this skill inherits the inputs that skill read, the gaps the user answered, and its rules for reconciling an existing implementation; it does not repeat the status check or ask the same questions again. Run directly, read the use case, the requirements it links, docs/entity_model.md, and docs/architecture/stack.md yourself, and stop on a Draft or Reviewed use case.

Business Rule Markers

Put // UC-XXX BR-YYY: <rule> directly above the repository query method, exists…/count… check, or @Version field that enforces the rule.

Markers

Keep this skill's rows in the Markers table of docs/architecture/stack.md exactly as references/markers.md lists them: add them when they are missing, correct them when they differ. Touch no other row.

Handover

Handover from jpa-persistence (UC-XXX)
- <Entity> (@Entity) and <Entity>Repository — src/main/java/<package>/
  - <return type> <method>(<parameters>)
Nothing to do: <reason>
Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

jpa-persistence is a skill published in the GitHub repository AI-Unified-Process/marketplace (150 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 203 tokens to every session and 684 once invoked, about $0.0008 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-25.
