product-design-url-to-code

product-design-url-to-code is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from AIDotNet/OpenCowork. It costs 34 tokens per session (1,344 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A workflow for recreating a live website as a runnable local frontend-only app. It uses the website as visual and interaction reference and requires permission to copy the site.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to clone a website you own or are authorized to recreate, including its visible pages and interactions.
Why use it?
It provides a structured way to inspect a source website and reproduce its appearance and behavior locally.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.01344
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00672
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00269
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00134

Security

Grade A, and why

product-design-url-to-code scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/bootstrap-prototype.mjs, templates/prototype/vite.config.mjs), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 125 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

URL To Code

Clone <target-url> as a real interactive, frontend-only local app or website. The clone should look and interact like the source.

Critical Overrides

User Context

Before starting, load $user-context and run its preflight script when local shell access is available.

Use saved product URLs, Figma files, screenshots, reference images, codebase paths, Storybook, tokens, design systems, brand assets, component refs, browser preferences, and share targets as grounding material when relevant.

Do not inspect every saved reference. Inspect only what the current task needs.

Workflow

  1. Do not start unless $get-context has played back and confirmed the design brief for this exact request. If this skill was invoked directly and the current thread does not already contain that confirmed brief, route to $get-context first.

  2. CRITICAL STEP: Warn the user that they must follow the target website's terms before proceeding. This workflow is only for apps and websites the user owns, or has permission to recreate.

  3. Open the source URL using browser-order.

  4. Check that the page is correct.

  • Do not continue if it shows the wrong page, a blocked page, a login page, a promo page, a loading screen, an error page, an app-install page, or an unrelated redirect.
  • If the page is wrong, try again with another available browser.
  • If every browser shows the wrong page, stop and tell the user what you can see.
  1. Capture the source page carefully.
  • Start at the top of the page.
  • Scroll down in small steps.
  • At each step, capture what is visible.
  • Note any new sections, controls, sticky elements, animations, or lazy-loaded assets.
  • Continue until the full page has been seen.
  • Scroll back to the top and check whether anything changed.
  • Repeat on mobile at 390 x 844.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
