alive-people

alive-people is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from alivecontext/alive. It costs 15 tokens per session (455 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A weekly review of people-related notes in a personal knowledge system. It finds close contacts whose notes are stale and cross-checks recent mentions of people in other notes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find overdue check-ins, identify people mentioned recently without updated notes, and show recent people-related activity.
Why use it?
It helps surface relationships that may need attention and prevents recent mentions from being disconnected from the relevant person's notes. It only suggests contact, rather than contacting anyone.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00015 $0.00455
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00228
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00091
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00046

Security

Grade A, and why

alive-people scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

People Check

Cross-reference people mentions across the world. Nudge about stale contacts.

Process

1. Scan People Walnuts

find "$ALIVE_WORLD_ROOT/02_Life/people" -name "key.md" -path "*/_kernel/*" 2>/dev/null

For each person, read _kernel/now.json or _kernel/key.md for last updated date.

2. Identify Stale Contacts

People walnuts not updated in 14+ days for close contacts (inner circle), 30+ days for professional/orbit:

People check -- [date]

Worth reaching out?
[[person]] -- [role] -- last context [N] days ago
[[person]] -- [role] -- last context [N] days ago

Recent people activity:
[[person]] -- mentioned in [walnut] [N] days ago
[[person]] -- new stash item routed [N] days ago

3. Cross-Reference Mentions

Search recent log entries (last 7 days) for [[person]] wikilinks:

grep -r "\[\[" "$ALIVE_WORLD_ROOT"/*/_kernel/log.md 2>/dev/null | head -20

Flag people mentioned in logs but without recent person walnut updates.

Output

If no stale contacts and no unrouted people context: [SILENT]

Rules

  • People don't get health signals like walnuts -- just "last updated" with nudges
  • Only nudge for close contacts (inner circle) past 2 weeks
  • Professional contacts only nudged past 30 days
  • This is a gentle reminder, not a task list
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
