bmad-retrospective

bmad-retrospective is a skill for Claude Code from alvin-reyes/better-agentic-ide. It costs 79 tokens per session (288 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

Review a finished epic folder in the ticket tree against the evidence it left behind — the epic file, each ticket plan, diffs, commits — and produce a retrospective with sourced findings, action items, and an acceptance decision. Use when the user says "run a retrospective" or "lets retro the epic [epic]". Supports…

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00079 $0.00288
Opus 5.5 $0.00032 $0.00115
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00058
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00029

Security

Grade A, and why

bmad-retrospective scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/git_evidence.py, scripts/tests/test_git_evidence.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Run the following command exactly once without changing the current working directory. Replace {project-root} with the absolute path to the project root and {skill-root} with the absolute path to this skill's directory:

node {project-root}/_bmad/ade-runtime.mjs render_skill --project-root "{project-root}" --skill "{skill-root}"
  • The command should print one line to stdout. read and follow <rendered workflow.md>: read that file and follow it. HALT: <reason>: report the reason and stop.
  • If the script does not exist, BMad is not set up in this project yet. Offer to set it up using bmad skill, then run the command again. If you do not have the bmad skill, offer to install it first.
  • On any other output or failure, including uv being unavailable, report the command output and stop. Do not run any workflow source directly.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
