Apache Doris Skills is a collection of agent instructions containing Apache Doris database knowledge for designing, sizing, operating, diagnosing, and contributing to Doris clusters. It serves developers and operators using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Cline, Amp, and other agent tools, with the skills providing decision logic and evidence-based workflows.
Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00196 | $0.01080 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00078 | $0.00432 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00039 | $0.00216 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00020 | $0.00108 |
Grade A, and why
doris-pr-description scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 43 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Writing Apache Doris pull requests
Reviewer time is the scarcest resource in the Doris community. A PR description exists so that a reviewer can decide, in about a minute, whether the change is worth reviewing, what to look at first, and how much time it will take. That minute goes to the title, Background, Problem Summary, and the size of the diff that GitHub shows beside them, so together they must say what the PR does, why the diff is as large as it is, and what changes for existing users. Reviewers often don't know the module or feature a PR touches, so every description opens with a short Background that gives them the context. AI review already concentrates on logic errors; what it almost never comments on is why the change is needed and why this approach was chosen. Only the author can supply those answers, human reviewers spend nearly half their comments asking for them, and this standard puts its weight there.
The standard applies to PRs against master of apache/doris. Cherry-picks to release branches keep the original PR's description and are out of scope.
Modes
| Mode | When | GitHub |
|---|---|---|
| Create | Open a PR for the current branch, and the issue a Feature needs when it has none | Push and create after the user confirms the drafts |
| Update | Improve the title or description of the user's own PR | Edit after the user confirms |
| Rewrite | Rewrite any PR's description for comparison or evaluation | Never; write files only |
| Check | Judge whether an existing description meets the standard | Never; report only |
Publishing is visible to the whole community, so when in doubt, draft and ask.
Reading this skill
Paths are relative to this skill's directory. Read a reference file when the step you are on calls for it, and only the files that the mode, the PR type, and the change need; don't read ahead. A file read earlier in the session needn't be read again unless the context has been compacted since.
A development skill such as develop-with-evidence reads references/development.md and the files it points to, not this workflow.
What ships with it
35 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

doris-pr-description is a skill published in the GitHub repository apache/doris-skills (49 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 196 tokens to every session and 1,080 once invoked, about $0.0008 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-11-05.
