cf-review

cf-review is a skill for Claude Code from dinhanhthi/coding-friend. It costs 59 tokens per session (1,371 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A code-review workflow that sends selected changes to a separate agent for inspection.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review uncommitted changes, files, commits, branches, or a described area of code, with quick and deep modes.
Why use it?
It provides a dedicated check for problems before changes are merged.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: $ARGUMENTS substitution. Also seen: mentions subagents; mentions Codex.

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is **CLI Requirement:** OPTIONAL — Uses the memory MCP from `coding-friend-cli` for fast indexed search and storage. Without the CLI: falls back to grep over `docs.

Good fit Use it to review uncommitted changes, files, commits, branches, or a described area of code, with quick and deep modes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00059 $0.01371
Opus 5 $0.00030 $0.00685
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00274
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00137

Measured 8d ago against content hash 044333a637d1, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

cf-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (scripts/assess-changes.sh, scripts/gather-diff.sh, scripts/mark-reviewed.sh, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 144 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

/cf-review

CLI Requirement: OPTIONAL — Uses the memory MCP from coding-friend-cli for fast indexed search and storage. Without the CLI: falls back to grep over docs/memory/ and direct file writes. Full functionality preserved, slower memory recall. See CLI requirements.

CODING FRIEND → /cf-review activated

Review the code changes for: $ARGUMENTS

Auto-Triggered

Invoked by /cf-plan (after all tasks), /cf-fix (after verified fix), and /cf-optimize (after measured + verified).

Workflow

Step 0: Custom Guide

bash "<plugin-root>/lib/load-custom-guide.sh" cf-review

If output is not empty: ## Before → before first step, ## Rules → throughout, ## After → after final step.

Step 1: Identify the target

  • Empty $ARGUMENTS → all uncommitted changes (git diff + git diff --staged)
  • File path → that file
  • Commit range (e.g. HEAD~3..HEAD) → those commits
  • Natural-language description (e.g. "the auth logic changes") → default uncommitted set, focus findings on that area
  • --deep / --quick → force that mode (override auto-detection)

Antigravity host behavior:

  • This skill already runs inside Google Antigravity. Ignore --with-codex, its --codex alias, and review.withCodex; do not launch a nested codex review subprocess.
  • Run the Coding Friend multi-agent review below.

Step 2: Gather the diff

bash "<plugin-root>/skills/cf-review/scripts/gather-diff.sh"

Step 3: Assess change size

bash "<plugin-root>/skills/cf-review/scripts/assess-changes.sh"

Script prints KEY=value: FILES_CHANGED, LINES_CHANGED, SENSITIVE, CHANGED_FILES, MODE. Use MODE as-is.

Mode Condition Behavior
QUICK ≤3 files AND ≤50 lines AND no sensitive paths Layer 3: secrets + obvious injection. Skip context research.
STANDARD 4–10 files OR 51–300 lines Full 5-layer review. All security phases, concise.
DEEP >10 files OR >300 lines OR sensitive paths touched Full 5-layer + extended security. Data-flow tracing. Exploits.

What ships with it

4 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cf-review is a skill published in the GitHub repository dinhanhthi/coding-friend (3 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 59 tokens to every session and 1,371 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
