sage-hr

sage-hr is a skill for Claude Code from apideck-libraries/api-skills. It costs 76 tokens per session (2,081 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of acerta, Apache-2.0.

An integration guide for connecting to Sage HR, a human resources system for managing employees, departments, payrolls, and time-off records. It uses Apideck's shared interface for HR and recruiting software.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to read or sync employees, departments, payrolls, and time-off records in Sage HR.
Why use it?
It removes the need to build Sage HR-specific connection handling from scratch. The same code can be adapted to other supported HR systems by changing one service setting.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00076 $0.02081
Opus 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00832
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00416
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00208

Security

Grade A, and why

sage-hr scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 15d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Sage HR (via Apideck)

Access Sage HR through Apideck's HRIS, ATS unified API — one of 58 HRIS connectors that share the same method surface. Code you write here ports to BambooHR, Workday, Deel and 54 other HRIS connectors by changing a single serviceId string. Apideck handles auth, pagination, rate limiting, and retries so you don't write per-tenant Sage HR plumbing.

Quick facts

  • Apideck serviceId: sage-hr
  • Unified APIs: HRIS, ATS
  • Auth type: apiKey
  • Gotchas: HRIS · ATS
  • Homepage: https://sage.hr/

At a glance

  • Implementation difficulty: moderate — API Key Authentication - Each Consumer Enables API Access and Copies Their Own Key
  • Vendor partnership required: no
  • Apideck-managed credentials: not available — Each consumer supplies their own Sage HR subdomain and API key.
  • Account type required: A Sage HR company account.
  • Consumer access level: A Sage HR admin, since only admins can enable API access.
  • Sandbox: available — Free 30-day Sage HR trial, no card required. Whether the API can be enabled during the trial is not confirmed.
  • Authentication: Sent in the X-Auth-Token header; not OAuth.
  • Webhooks: Virtual webhooks - employee created, updated and terminated (HRIS); applicant and job created and updated (ATS).

Important to know:

  • Sage HR serves both the HRIS and ATS APIs, and Vault keys a connection to one unified API, so each vertical is a separate connection using the same subdomain and API key.
  • The API key belongs to the admin who enabled API access and is tied to that person's admin rights: if they lose admin permissions, Sage HR invalidates the key and the connection stops working, so create it from a stable admin account.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
