home-ops: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/databases/SKILL.md

databases is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Aviator-Coding/home-ops. It costs 90 tokens per session (1,109 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A database operations guide for FalkorDB, SurrealDB, CloudNativePG, EMQX, and Dragonfly running in Kubernetes. It records their storage, backup, memory, upgrade, and health-check rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when editing database manifests, changing memory or durability settings, checking backups and readiness, or upgrading a database operator.
Why use it?
It prevents database changes that can lose durability, write backups to the wrong place, break an operator upgrade, or report healthy when the data service is not usable.

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is Aviator-Coding/home-ops's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on home-ops itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything home-ops configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00090 $0.01109
Opus 5.5 $0.00036 $0.00444
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00222
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00111

Measured 14d ago against content hash b077ab6c0a3f, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

databases scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 14d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Databases: FalkorDB, SurrealDB, CloudNativePG, EMQX, Dragonfly

Versions live in the HelmRelease or the component, not in a Readme. Several Readmes in this namespace are behind the manifests (CNPG chart tag, Dragonfly image, scrape-target count).

Tripwires

  1. FalkorDB's three memory numbers move together. --maxmemory 12gb is 0.75 of the 16Gi limit, and the alerts threshold the working-set ratio against that same limit. AOF stays on. Policy stays noeviction. Readiness is redis-cli -e GRAPH.LIST. falkordb.md
  2. SurrealDB does not roll back, and it has one writer. Upgrade remediation is strategy: uninstall. replicaCount: 1 is the RocksDB lock, and the replica alert is < 1. Do not set storageClassName. surrealdb.md
  3. One CNPG Cluster has one live barman destination. A second ScheduledBackup with its own barmanObjectName still reports completed and writes to the first store. Health is readyInstances plus ContinuousArchiving, not Ready. Keep the cluster metric label. cnpg.md
  4. EMQX operator stays on 2.2.x. 2.3.x drops apps.emqx.io/v2beta1 and calls an Enterprise-only API that 404s against this OSS 5.8 broker. emqx.md
  5. Dragonfly is cache-only. --cache_mode=true means a restart drops the data on purpose. There is no central cluster. Five apps, ten scrape targets. dragonfly.md
  6. A snapshot backup is crash-consistent. Both engines have no application hook. A database that has not fsynced restores a stale copy and still starts clean. FalkorDB measured 2174 of 2199 nodes with AOF and 200 of 2199 on the image's stock RDB-only durability.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

databases is a skill published in the GitHub repository Aviator-Coding/home-ops (3 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 90 tokens to every session and 1,109 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-29.
