intlayer: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/intlayer-backend/SKILL.md

intlayer-backend is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from aymericzip/intlayer. It costs 82 tokens per session (1,159 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An Intlayer integration for Node.js and Bun servers, including frameworks such as Express, Fastify, Hono, NestJS, AdonisJS, and Elysia. Middleware detects the language for each request so server code can return translated content.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to translate API responses or other server-rendered content, register locale middleware, and read translated dictionaries in route handlers and services.
Why use it?
It avoids passing a locale through every service and route function. Translation helpers can use the language associated with the current request, based on sources such as a cookie or the browser's language header.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00082 $0.01159
Opus 5.5 $0.00033 $0.00464
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00232
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00116

Security

Grade A, and why

intlayer-backend scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Intlayer Backend Usage

Core Philosophy

Every backend integration works the same way:

  1. A middleware / plugin (intlayer()) resolves the locale of each request (cookie, header, Accept-Language) and scopes it to that request.
  2. Helpers (t, getIntlayer, getDictionary) read that request locale, so they are safe to call from services without threading a locale argument through every function.
Framework Package Registration
Express express-intlayer app.use(intlayer())
NestJS express-intlayer consumer.apply(intlayer()).forRoutes("*")
Fastify fastify-intlayer await fastify.register(intlayer)
Hono hono-intlayer app.use("*", intlayer())
Elysia elysia-intlayer .use(intlayer()), helpers read from route intlayer
AdonisJS adonis-intlayer Registered middleware (see the AdonisJS guide)

Declare Content

File: src/index.content.ts

import { t, type Dictionary } from "intlayer";

const content = {
  key: "index",
  content: {
    exampleOfContent: t({
      en: "Example of returned content in English",
      fr: "Exemple de contenu renvoyé en français",
    }),
  },
} satisfies Dictionary;

export default content;

Usage

Register the middleware / plugin from the table above before the routes that read content (see the Express guide), then call the helpers in any handler:

import { t, getIntlayer, getDictionary } from "express-intlayer";
import dictionaryExample from "./index.content";

app.get("/", (_req, res) => {
  res.send(t({ en: "Hello", fr: "Bonjour" })); // Inline translation
});

app.get("/by-key", (_req, res) => {
  res.send(getIntlayer("index").exampleOfContent); // Dictionary by key
});

app.get("/by-import", (_req, res) => {
  res.send(getDictionary(dictionaryExample).exampleOfContent); // Imported dictionary
});

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

intlayer-backend is a skill published in the GitHub repository aymericzip/intlayer (851 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 82 tokens to every session and 1,159 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-24.
