fig-analyze

fig-analyze is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills. It costs 45 tokens per session (752 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A research workflow that examines a code repository, paper, draft, or reference image and produces structured notes for the next person or tool. It chooses a different analysis path based on whether the input is software, academic writing, or an image.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan figures from papers, understand a repository's architecture, or document the structure and style of a reference figure.
Why use it?
It reduces guesswork when turning incomplete or mixed source material into a reliable handoff, and marks missing evidence instead of filling it in.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.00752
Opus 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00301
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00150
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00075

Security

Grade A, and why

fig-analyze scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/extract_pdf_figures.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

fig-analyze

  • 正文、章节或 LaTeX/Markdown 结构 → 论文或草稿

任务或框架分类不确定时,再读 references/keywords.md。

  • 只有需要抽出图片候选时,才运行 scripts/extract_pdf_figures.py。

证据不足时读 references/missing-info-policy.md。

  • Semantic Architecture Handoff v1(academic-figure/SemanticArchitecture@1)→ references/repo.md
  • Figure Plan v1(academic-figure/FigurePlan@1)→ references/paper.md
  • ReferenceAnalysis v1(academic-figure/ReferenceAnalysis@1)→ references/reference-figure.md

Files

What ships with it

6 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

fig-analyze is a skill published in the GitHub repository Azhi-ss/academic-figure-skills (158 stars, last pushed 5d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 45 tokens to every session and 752 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-12.
