designcraft

designcraft is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard. It costs 86 tokens per session (2,202 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A headless tool for making vector illustrations from paths, shapes, text, fills, and strokes. Vector graphics use mathematical shapes so they can be resized without becoming blurry.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to draw logos and illustrations, work with artboards and layers, export artwork, or convert between vector and image formats.
Why use it?
It lets you create and convert artwork from commands without a desktop illustration app. It can read and write formats such as SVG, PDF, and PNG.

One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00086 $0.02202
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00881
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00440
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00220

Security

Grade A, and why

designcraft scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

DesignCraft — headless page layout

DesignCraft is ArtCraft's DTP app (spreads, parent pages, threaded text frames, paragraph/character styles, tables, swatches, preflight, PDF/EPUB/HTML export; 459 commands). pi-craft provisions the headless designcraft-cli on first use (no desktop app). App choice, the discover → execute → save → verify loop and the MCP policy live in craft-studio.

What it is for / formats

Print and screen layouts. Native project file: .designcraft; also opens .idml. Exports pdf (file.exportPdf), png/jpg (pages), idml, epub, html, text. For editing an existing PDF use PdfCraft, for a plain document WordCraft, for free-form illustration VectorCraft.

CLI dialect

pi-craft designcraft exec <args…> passes the arguments to designcraft-cli.

designcraft-cli commands [FILTER] # JSON list {id, label, params, enabled}; FILTER is POSITIONAL ("--filter" is wrong → prints [])
designcraft-cli describe ID # one command: label, menu, params schema (unknown id → "no command", similar ids)
designcraft-cli run [--in FILE | --sample] [--cmd ID[=JSON]]… [--page N] [--scale S] [--pdf-options JSON] [--export OUT]… [--all-pages DIR]
designcraft-cli script [FILE|-] [--in FILE | --sample] [--save OUT] [--export OUT]… [--keep-going]
  • --cmd ID=JSON here (unlike VectorCraft): --cmd 'frame.create={"rect":[50,50,400,300],"text":"Hi"}'; a bare --cmd file.new is fine. Each command prints its JSON result ({"id":10,"story":11}), each export a wrote … (2 pages, N bytes) line.
  • script is the better route for several steps: one step per line (command.id {json}, command.id={json}, or a JSON object {"command":…,"params":…}), #/// comments, stdin with -. Later steps reference earlier results with "$N.path" (0-based step index, e.g. "$1.story", "$last.id"; inside longer strings "${1.story}"). A failing step stops the script (exit 1, failedIndex/failedCommand); --keep-going records errors and continues.
  • --page, --scale, --pdf-options apply only to the --export/--all-pages that follow them; placed after the last export they are an error ("--scale has no --export … after it").
  • Export extension picks the format: .pdf .png .jpg (and .idml .epub in script).
  • Frame coordinates are rect: [x0,y0,x1,y1] in points (A4 = 595×842), in spread coordinates; spread is a 0-based index (one page per spread unless facingPages).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

designcraft is a skill published in the GitHub repository BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard (319 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 86 tokens to every session and 2,202 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-15.
