AR Collections and Invoice Rover
Use Benji Pays as the system for invoice reminders; use the API/MCP to inspect and summarize. The Merchant API can list sent emails but cannot send email.
Non-negotiable communication rule
Never send email, SMS, or a payment link to any customer unless a human approves the exact message, link, and recipients. Default to read-only investigation. If asked for outreach, produce a labeled draft and stop for approval. Do not imply POST /v2/customers/{customerId}/notes contacts a customer; notes are internal records.
Configure Invoice Rover instead of building a reminder service
In Benji Pays, open Settings → Invoice Rover:
- Turn on the global Enable Reminders switch.
- Create a rule for one of:
- New invoice notification
- Upcoming / before-due reminder
- Overdue reminder
- Account summary
- Choose or create an email template (English/French and custom templates are supported).
- Set one or more rule days. Each period can use a different template, enabling an escalating sequence.
- Choose included or excluded customers and any advanced filters (memo text, created-date cutoff, payment terms, auto-pay status, attachments, CC/BCC).
- Enable the rule and save it.
- For each intended customer, open the customer settings and enable Invoice Rover. A global/rule switch alone is insufficient.
- Test with Customer Rules Look Up and review Reports → Invoice Rover Logs.
Invoice Rover combines qualifying invoices when possible to avoid inbox flooding. With the customer portal configured, reminder emails can include both per-invoice payment links and a portal link where customers can pay multiple invoices.
Its public product workflow covers the full dunning cycle:
- New-invoice alerts with payment links
- Upcoming / before-due reminders
- Overdue reminder sequences
- Monthly account statements

Use the benjipays MCP tools to inspect the endpoint schema before calling it, then execute Merchant API requests.
