embed-pay-now-and-portal

embed-pay-now-and-portal is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from bpays/benji-pays-agent-plugin. It costs 127 tokens per session (3,009 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for adding Benji Pays payment and customer-portal links to invoice emails or business applications. It covers systems such as CRMs, accounting tools, and professional-services platforms when their invoices sync to supported accounting systems.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to embed Pay Now and portal paths in invoice templates, map invoice fields from another system, and configure tokenized or hosted payment flows through Benji Pays.
Why use it?
It helps choose the correct payment-link method and avoid broken or unsafe hand-built URLs. It also explains how invoice numbers and totals should be passed into payment links.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00127 $0.03009
Opus 5 $0.00063 $0.01504
Sonnet 5 $0.00025 $0.00602
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00301

Security

Grade A, and why

embed-pay-now-and-portal scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Embed Pay Now and Customer Portal

Choose the payment path by what the source system can provide. For invoice emails and templates, prefer stable links and hosted flows generated/configured in Benji settings. API-created token links are short-lived and belong in authenticated, click-time application flows.

The three customer pay paths

1. Tokenized custom Pay Now link

Use this when the source system's email template can merge invoice data into a URL. Copy the exact template from Benji settings and map the source system's invoice-number and, when available, total tokens:

Base pattern:

https://www.benjipays.com/portal/{portalName}/pay/?InvoiceNumber={invoiceNumber}&transactionAmount={invoiceTotal}

An invoice number identifies the synced invoice. transactionAmount supplies the amount and is required when the merchant enables the matching-amount control; ordinary QBO email templates cannot dynamically insert invoice totals, so use the Benji-provided QBO template and compatible settings. Do not hand-build a URL when Benji already provides a currency/gateway-specific template.

Use the exact template shown in the merchant's Benji settings rather than reconstructing it when possible:

  • Settings → QuickBooks Custom Payment Links for QBO templates
  • Settings → QuickBooks Desktop Custom Payment Links for QBD
  • Gateway Settings to connect the Benji Pays payment service to Xero branding themes
  • Settings → Custom Payment Links for Business Central and any external source-system or website workflow
  • Settings → Customer Portal Settings for portal name and payment behavior

2. Secure invoice lookup

Use Benji's hosted secure invoice lookup when the source system cannot tokenize invoice number/amount into an email link. Use the hosted lookup URL and settings provided under Settings → Customer Portal Settings; do not invent lookup URLs, embed scripts, API contracts, or client-side invoice searches.

The hosted flow should collect/lookup the invoice through Benji rather than exposing accounting credentials or implementing invoice enumeration in the merchant's website. Check Customer Portal controls for invoice-not-found behavior and whether generic/unapplied payments are allowed.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
