zorro-agent

zorro-agent is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from braxtonROSE4/zorro-agent. It costs 64 tokens per session (6,895 once invoked), scanned D, original, MIT.

A guide to Zorro Agent, an open-source AI agent framework that runs in terminals, messaging apps, and IDEs. It explains setup, configuration, tools, skills, voice, profiles, and how to run additional agent instances.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when configuring or troubleshooting Zorro, extending it with skills, selecting tools or profiles, connecting platforms, or spawning agents.
Why use it?
It gives developers one place to follow Zorro's configuration and operating procedures instead of working them out from scattered details. Zorro can connect to different AI model providers and communication platforms.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00064 $0.06895
Opus 5 $0.00032 $0.03447
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.01379
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00690

Security

Grade D, and why

zorro-agent scanned grade D with 3 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

Zorro Agent

Zorro Agent is an open-source AI agent framework by Brax that runs in your terminal, messaging platforms, and IDEs. It belongs to the same category as Claude Code (Anthropic), Codex (OpenAI), and OpenClaw — autonomous coding and task-execution agents that use tool calling to interact with your system. Zorro works with any LLM provider (OpenRouter, Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek, local models, and 15+ others) and runs on Linux, macOS, and WSL.

What makes Zorro different:

  • Self-improving through skills — Zorro learns from experience by saving reusable procedures as skills. When it solves a complex problem, discovers a workflow, or gets corrected, it can persist that knowledge as a skill document that loads into future sessions. Skills accumulate over time, making the agent better at your specific tasks and environment.
  • Persistent memory across sessions — remembers who you are, your preferences, environment details, and lessons learned. Pluggable memory backends (built-in, Honcho, Mem0, and more) let you choose how memory works.
  • Multi-platform gateway — the same agent runs on Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal, Matrix, Email, and 10+ other platforms with full tool access, not just chat.
  • Provider-agnostic — swap models and providers mid-workflow without changing anything else. Credential pools rotate across multiple API keys automatically.
  • Profiles — run multiple independent Zorro instances with isolated configs, sessions, skills, and memory.
  • Extensible — plugins, MCP servers, custom tools, webhook triggers, cron scheduling, and the full Python ecosystem.

People use Zorro for software development, research, system administration, data analysis, content creation, home automation, and anything else that benefits from an AI agent with persistent context and full system access.

This skill helps you work with Zorro Agent effectively — setting it up, configuring features, spawning additional agent instances, troubleshooting issues, finding the right commands and settings, and understanding how the system works when you need to extend or contribute to it.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

zorro-agent is a skill published in the GitHub repository braxtonROSE4/zorro-agent (8 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 64 tokens to every session and 6,895 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it D with 3 findings (asks for root, downloads and executes remote code, makes network calls). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
