pricing-strategy

pricing-strategy is a skill for Claude Code from bromso/metapowers. It costs 76 tokens per session (765 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A pricing-planning guide for deciding what a product should charge and how paid plans should be arranged. It compares pricing models, customer value, competitors, discounts, and plan packaging.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan per-seat, usage-based, or freemium pricing, choose tiers and price points, and restructure plans.
Why use it?
It helps when pricing feels unclear or existing plans no longer fit the product or market. It addresses what to charge, rather than improving an existing upgrade prompt.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00076 $0.00765
Opus 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00306
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00153
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00076

Security

Grade A, and why

pricing-strategy scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Pricing Strategy

Evaluate and recommend pricing strategy for "$ARGUMENTS". Analyze pricing models, tier structures, packaging, and competitive pricing.

Arguments. $ARGUMENTS may contain the project name and optional flags. Take the first token as <project> and treat --skip-checks as a flag; never include flags in file paths. All paths below use <project>. If --skip-checks is present, skip the prerequisite check and, before writing any artifact, append one line to .metapowers/marketing/<project>/skip-log.md: - <ISO timestamp> — <skill name> skipped prerequisite check for <artifact file> — reason: <reason or "none given">.

Prerequisites

Read .metapowers/marketing/<project>/00-strategy.md. If this file does not exist, suggest running /marketing:customer-research <project> first to understand the audience.

Process

  1. Read context:

    • Read .metapowers/marketing/<project>/00-strategy.md for audience and competitor data
    • Read ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/shared/race-framework-guide.md for methodology reference
  2. Analyze current pricing landscape:

    • Use WebSearch to research competitor pricing for "" category
    • Use WebFetch to read pricing pages of top competitors
    • Document: pricing models (flat, usage, per-seat, freemium), price points, tier structures
  3. Evaluate pricing models:

    • Which model aligns with the value metric? (what do users pay for?)
    • Flat rate vs. usage-based vs. per-seat vs. hybrid
    • Free tier / freemium considerations
    • Annual vs. monthly pricing and discount strategy
  4. Design tier structure:

    • Recommend tier names, price points, and feature allocation
    • Apply the "good-better-best" framework
    • Identify the anchor tier (where most users should land)
    • Define upgrade triggers between tiers
  5. Pricing psychology:

    • Anchoring: which tier makes the target tier look like a deal?
    • Charm pricing vs. round numbers for the category
    • Annual discount percentage recommendations
    • Free trial vs. freemium decision

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pricing-strategy is a skill published in the GitHub repository bromso/metapowers (2 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 76 tokens to every session and 765 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-21.
