curing-material

curing-material is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Cai-aa/CAE-Agent-Hub. It costs 0 tokens per session (820 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for defining the curing material of a composite and the elastic material of its mold in Abaqus. A UMAT is a user-written material routine that tells Abaqus how a material behaves during the simulation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to configure the composite material, its curing-state variables, orthogonal thermal expansion, UMAT subroutine, and the mold material.
Why use it?
It sets up the material data needed to represent curing, temperature-dependent expansion, and the mold response.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00410

Security

Grade A, and why

curing-material scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Curing Material Setup

Description

Define UMAT material for composite curing and elastic material for mold. Invoke when user needs COM material with UMAT subroutine, TOOL material, or material constants for curing simulation.

COM Material (Composite)

The composite material uses a user-defined material (UMAT) subroutine to model the curing behavior, including cure kinetics, glass transition, and orthotropic thermal expansion.

*Material, name=COM
*Depvar
      4,
*Expansion, type=ORTHO, user
*User Material, constants=1
1.,

Keyword Details

  • *Depvar: Defines 4 state variables (SDV1-SDV4) that track the curing state throughout the analysis.
  • *Expansion, type=ORTHO, user: User-defined orthotropic thermal expansion. The expansion coefficients are computed inside the UMAT subroutine based on the current curing state and temperature.
  • *User Material, constants=1: A single material constant is passed to the UMAT subroutine (value=1.0). This constant is used as a flag or scaling factor within the subroutine logic.

UMAT Subroutine

  • The UMAT file (Threestep.for) must be provided at job submission.
  • The subroutine implements the three-step curing model (viscous, rubbery, glassy states).
  • The UMAT uses temperature and state variables to determine the current material state and compute the Jacobian, stress, and state variable updates.

How to Attach UMAT

The UMAT subroutine is attached to the job via the userSubroutine argument when creating the job from an input file:

mdb.JobFromInputFile(
    name='curing_job',
    inputFileName='curing.inp',
    userSubroutine=umat_path
)

Where umat_path is the absolute path to the Threestep.for file.

State Variables Meaning

The 4 state variables (SDV1-SDV4) track the curing state:

  • SDV1: Degree of cure (alpha) - ranges from 0 (uncured) to 1 (fully cured)
  • SDV2: Glass transition temperature (Tg) - evolves with degree of cure
  • SDV3: Current material state indicator (viscous/rubbery/glassy)
  • SDV4: Additional curing parameter (e.g., residual cure strain or volumetric shrinkage)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

curing-material is a skill published in the GitHub repository Cai-aa/CAE-Agent-Hub (839 stars, last pushed 2d ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 820 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
