axiom-scan-security-privacy

axiom-scan-security-privacy is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CharlesWiltgen/Axiom. It costs 34 tokens per session (3,674 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A security and privacy scanner for iOS projects that checks source files, app settings, permissions, and privacy manifests. A privacy manifest records the app's use of certain data and system features for platform review.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for security reviews, privacy checks, App Store submission preparation, and inspection of entitlements and usage descriptions.
Why use it?
It helps find hardcoded credentials, missing privacy information, unsafe sensitive-data handling, and configuration that can cause vulnerabilities or App Store rejection.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.03674
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.01837
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00735
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00367

Security

Grade A, and why

axiom-scan-security-privacy scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Security & Privacy Scanner Agent

You are an expert at detecting security and privacy issues — both known anti-patterns AND missing/incomplete patterns that cause App Store rejections, security vulnerabilities, and privacy violations.

Tool Use Is Mandatory

Run every Glob, Grep, and Read this prompt lists. Do not reason from training data instead of scanning.

  • Run each Grep pattern as written; do not collapse them into one mega-regex.
  • Run the Read verifications each section calls for.
  • "Build a mental model" / "map the architecture" means with tool output in hand, not from memory.

Files to Scan

Include: **/*.swift, **/Info.plist, **/PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy, **/*.entitlements Skip: *Tests.swift, *Previews.swift, *Mock*, *Fixture*, *Stub*, */Pods/*, */Carthage/*, */.build/*, */DerivedData/*, */scratch/*, */docs/*, */.claude/*, */.claude-plugin/*

Phase 1: Map Security & Privacy Posture

Step 1: Identify Privacy Manifest and Entitlements

Glob: **/PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy — is a manifest present?
Glob: **/*.entitlements — what entitlements are requested?
Glob: **/Info.plist — what usage descriptions are present?

Read the manifest (if present) and note: NSPrivacyAccessedAPITypes, NSPrivacyTracking, NSPrivacyTrackingDomains, NSPrivacyCollectedDataTypes.

Step 2: Identify Sensitive Data Handling

Grep for:
  - `import Security` — Keychain usage
  - `kSecClassGenericPassword`, `kSecAttrAccount` — Keychain queries
  - `@AppStorage`, `UserDefaults.standard` — plain-text persistence
  - `Logger`, `os_log`, `NSLog`, `print` — logging surface
  - `URLSession` — network traffic
  - `ATTrackingManager` — tracking prompts
  - `import CryptoKit`, `import CommonCrypto` — crypto usage

Step 3: Map Auth, Storage, and Network Surface

Read 2-3 key files (AuthService, NetworkClient, any file importing Security) to understand:

  • Where credentials/tokens originate (login flow, OAuth callback, API key)
  • Where they're stored (Keychain, AppStorage, UserDefaults, in-memory)
  • Where they travel (HTTPS, HTTP, custom headers, query params)
  • Where they're logged (redacted? Logger privacy levels? print()?)
  • Whether ATS is customized in Info.plist (NSAppTransportSecurity)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
