rn-api-integration

rn-api-integration is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from cmaranho/rn-agent-skills. It costs 55 tokens per session (467 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of rules for connecting a React Native mobile app to web APIs, which are services that send and receive data over the internet.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding API calls, handling offline or network errors, defining data models, adding caching, or separating server access from app logic.
Why use it?
It prevents network code, raw server responses, and unclear errors from spreading through the user interface. The rules make data access and failure handling consistent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00055 $0.00467
Opus 5 $0.00028 $0.00234
Sonnet 5 $0.00011 $0.00093
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00047

Security

Grade A, and why

rn-api-integration scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

  • Cliente HTTP (ex.: fetch/Axios) e interceptors (auth, retry).
  • Mapeamento de status code → erro de domínio tipado.
  • Padrão Repository e resultado tipado (sucesso/erro).
  • Cache/estado de servidor (ex.: React Query) quando aplicável.

Fluxo de execução

  1. Defina DTOs de request/response e o model de domínio.
  2. Implemente a chamada no repositório; mapeie cada status code relevante.
  3. Retorne resultado tipado ({ ok, data } | { ok: false, error } ou Either); não lance exceção crua.
  4. Normalize DTO → model com mapper puro.
  5. Consuma via caso de uso; trate loading/erro/sucesso no estado.

Boas práticas

  • Auth/refresh e headers comuns em interceptor central.
  • Timeout, cancelamento (AbortController) e retry idempotente.
  • Erros de domínio tipados carregam contexto.
  • Nunca vaze a resposta crua do cliente para a UI.

Armadilhas comuns

  • Chamada de API direto no componente/hook de tela.
  • Tratar só o caminho feliz; ignorar 4xx/5xx/offline.
  • any em respostas; ausência de validação de payload.
  • Segredos no cliente ou em log.

Critérios de sucesso

  • Toda resposta e erro mapeados e tipados.
  • Falhas de rede tratadas com estado de erro e recuperação.
  • Camada de dados testada (sucesso e erro).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
