soc2-evidence-collector

soc2-evidence-collector is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from codebygarv/Ai-skills. It costs 30 tokens per session (411 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A compliance evidence guide for collecting records needed for SOC 2 audits, which assess how a company protects data and operates its systems.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to prepare access reviews, change-management records, infrastructure evidence, and disaster-recovery logs for SOC 2 audits.
Why use it?
It organizes proof about access, deployments, encryption, incidents, backups, and recovery so audit preparation is less manual.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00030 $0.00411
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00205
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00082
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00041

Security

Grade A, and why

soc2-evidence-collector scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Purpose

Automate and structure evidence collection for SOC 2 Type II compliance audits across the Trust Services Criteria (Security, Availability, Confidentiality), organizing access reviews, change control pull requests, encryption proof, and disaster recovery drill logs.

When to Use

  • Preparing for annual SOC 2 Type I or Type II compliance audits.
  • Configuring automated compliance platforms (Vanta, Drata, Secureframe).
  • Creating tamper-proof audit trails for change management and production database access.

What to Analyze

  1. Change Management (CC8.1): Proof that all production deployments link to approved PRs with 2+ code reviews and passing CI checks.
  2. Access Control & Least Privilege (CC6.1 - CC6.3): Quarterly user access review logs, SSO MFA enforcement, and zero static root keys.
  3. Encryption in Transit & at Rest (CC6.6 - CC6.7): TLS 1.3 configs, AWS KMS encryption on RDS/EBS/S3, and automated certificate renewals.
  4. Incident Response & Postmortems (CC7.3 - CC7.4): Documented postmortems with completed preventative action item tickets.
  5. Backup & Disaster Recovery (A1.2): Automated verification logs of successful weekly test database restores.

Output Format

  • SOC 2 Evidence Checklist Table: Control ID, Evidence Description, Source System, Automated Extraction Script.
  • Audit Evidence Template: Standardized markdown artifact for auditor submission.
  • Automation Script: CLI / GitHub Actions workflow to export change management and access logs.

Avoid

  • Taking manual screenshots of cloud consoles that become stale or unverifiable.
  • Granting direct, unmonitored production database access without break-glass ticketing.
Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

soc2-evidence-collector is a skill published in the GitHub repository codebygarv/Ai-skills (25 stars, last pushed 21d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 30 tokens to every session and 411 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
