excalidraw-diagrams

excalidraw-diagrams is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from CodeInfinity1/Stram. It costs 33 tokens per session (449 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for creating simple, hand-drawn-style diagrams and whiteboard sketches. Excalidraw is a tool and file format for making this kind of visual diagram.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for system maps, teaching diagrams, concept sketches, and other diagrams with sparse, readable labels.
Why use it?
It helps explain flows and ideas informally when a polished technical diagram would feel too rigid.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00033 $0.00449
Opus 5.5 $0.00013 $0.00180
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00007 $0.00090
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

excalidraw-diagrams scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Excalidraw Diagrams

Purpose

Create hand-drawn style diagrams when that format helps communicate flows or concepts. Current execution should be native artifact creation or a draft spec unless a dedicated Excalidraw tool exists.

When To Use

Use for informal system maps, whiteboard-style flows, teaching diagrams, and concept sketches.

Inputs And Evidence

  • Diagram purpose, elements, labels, relationships, and target file path.
  • Current system evidence if technical.

Tool Map

  • excalidraw_diagram_create
  • diagram_artifact_create
  • diagram_artifact_inspect
  • canvas_a2ui_create
  • canvas_a2ui_render
  • architecture-diagrams
  • write_note
  • tool_search

Workflow

  1. Define the diagram message.
  2. Create a simple element/relationship list.
  3. Use excalidraw_diagram_create for Stram-owned Excalidraw-compatible JSON.
  4. Use diagram_artifact_create when a Markdown/Mermaid spec is clearer than a sketch file.
  5. Verify generated artifacts.
  6. Keep labels readable and sparse.

Native Implementation Boundaries

  • Do not import external reference Excalidraw scripts.
  • Excalidraw JSON generation must be Stram-owned.
  • Use upstream examples only as reference.
  • Mark generated sketches as draft, proposed, or current.

Safety And Approval

  • Avoid sensitive architecture disclosure.
  • Mark sketches as draft.
  • Do not overwrite existing diagrams without approval.

Verification

  • Artifact path or spec note proves output.
  • Excalidraw output must be valid JSON with type: excalidraw and generated elements.
  • Check element labels and relationships.
  • Inspect companion diagram artifacts when produced.

Failure Modes

  • Overcrowded diagram.
  • Invalid JSON claimed as Excalidraw-ready.
  • Unverified technical flow.

References

  • Shortlist item: excalidraw-diagrams.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

excalidraw-diagrams is a skill published in the GitHub repository CodeInfinity1/Stram (11 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 33 tokens to every session and 449 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
