skillful-subagent-creator

skillful-subagent-creator is a skill for Claude Code from curiositech/some_claude_skills. It costs 112 tokens per session (2,959 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for designing specialist Claude subagents, choosing their skills, writing their prompts, and connecting them in DAG workflows.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create subagents, select their toolkits, set input and output rules, and place them in standalone or chained workflows.
Why use it?
It provides a repeatable way to split complex work into focused agents and define how those agents exchange results.

SkillSpector: 2 findings, up to medium

These are SkillSpector’s own severities. On a checked sample its high-severity flags on skills were ~96% false positives — a documented command, a public API, a “never do X” rule — so we show them as a caution to read, not a verdict. Why →

  • medium Excessive Agency · line 178
Skill enables autonomous high-impact decisions without human-in-the-loop verification. Critical operations (destructive commands, financial transactions, data deletion) should require explicit user confirmation.
Fix: Add human-in-the-loop confirmation for destructive, irreversible, or high-impact operations. Never auto-execute commands that modify files, send data, or alter system state.
  • low Excessive Agency · line 360
Skill's behavior or capabilities extend beyond its stated purpose. Scope creep allows an agent to perform actions unrelated to its documented functionality, increasing the attack surface.
Fix: Limit the skill's scope to its documented purpose. Remove instructions that enable the agent to perform actions outside its stated functionality.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00112 $0.02959
Opus 5 $0.00056 $0.01479
Sonnet 5 $0.00022 $0.00592
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00296

Security

Grade A, and why

skillful-subagent-creator scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skillful Subagent Creator

Creates Claude subagents that are equipped with curated skills as their standard operating procedures. Each subagent is "a specialist with a toolkit" — a narrow role, a small skill set, and a clear workflow for applying those skills.

When to Use

Use for:

  • Designing a specialist subagent for a specific domain
  • Selecting which skills to attach to a subagent (2-5 core skills)
  • Writing the 4-section subagent prompt (Identity, Skills, Task Loop, Constraints)
  • Wiring subagents into DAG orchestration workflows
  • Defining input/output contracts between DAG nodes

NOT for:

  • Creating the skills themselves (use skill-architect)
  • Single-agent prompting without skills
  • General Claude Code features or MCP setup

Step 1: Define the Role

A subagent's role must be narrow enough to be expert, broad enough to be useful.

Examples of well-scoped roles:

Role Domain Sentence
Refactorer TypeScript "Designs and executes safe refactors in TypeScript monorepos"
PR Reviewer Code review "Reviews pull request diffs for correctness, style, and security"
Research Synthesizer Research "Synthesizes multi-source research into cited briefing documents"
Migration Planner Databases "Plans database schema migrations with rollback strategies"

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
