statsmodels

statsmodels is a skill for Claude Code from dralkh/seerai. It costs 65 tokens per session (5,027 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of statsmodels, MIT.

A Python library for fitting statistical models, including regression, generalized linear models, and time-series models such as ARIMA. It also provides statistical tests, coefficient details, and checks of model assumptions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it for econometrics, regression, classification of counts or categories, time-series analysis, forecasting, hypothesis tests, and residual diagnostics.
Why use it?
It helps when you need to understand how reliable a model's results are, rather than only making predictions. It provides diagnostics for issues such as unequal variance, correlated errors, and non-normal data.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00065 $0.05027
Opus 5.5 $0.00026 $0.02011
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00013 $0.01005
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00503

Security

Grade A, and why

statsmodels scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Statsmodels: Statistical Modeling and Econometrics

Overview

Statsmodels is Python's premier library for statistical modeling, providing tools for estimation, inference, and diagnostics across a wide range of statistical methods. Apply this skill for rigorous statistical analysis, from simple linear regression to complex time series models and econometric analyses.

Current Compatibility

Examples target statsmodels 0.14.6, released Dec 5, 2025. For reproducible environments, pin the primary package:

uv pip install statsmodels==0.14.6

Use statsmodels.api and statsmodels.formula.api for stable high-level imports, and direct module imports when examples require newer or specialized classes such as HurdleCountModel.

When to Use This Skill

This skill should be used when:

  • Fitting regression models (OLS, WLS, GLS, quantile regression)
  • Performing generalized linear modeling (logistic, Poisson, Gamma, etc.)
  • Analyzing discrete outcomes (binary, multinomial, count, ordinal)
  • Conducting time series analysis (ARIMA, SARIMAX, VAR, forecasting)
  • Running statistical tests and diagnostics
  • Testing model assumptions (heteroskedasticity, autocorrelation, normality)
  • Detecting outliers and influential observations
  • Comparing models (AIC/BIC, likelihood ratio tests)
  • Estimating causal effects
  • Producing publication-ready statistical tables and inference

Quick Start Guide

Linear Regression (OLS)

import statsmodels.api as sm
import numpy as np
import pandas as pd

# Prepare data - ALWAYS add constant for intercept
X = sm.add_constant(X_data)

# Fit OLS model
model = sm.OLS(y, X)
results = model.fit()

# View comprehensive results
print(results.summary())

# Key results
print(f"R-squared: {results.rsquared:.4f}")
print(f"Coefficients:\\n{results.params}")
print(f"P-values:\\n{results.pvalues}")

# Predictions with confidence intervals
predictions = results.get_prediction(X_new)
pred_summary = predictions.summary_frame()
print(pred_summary) # includes mean, CI, prediction intervals

# Diagnostics
from statsmodels.stats.diagnostic import het_breuschpagan
bp_test = het_breuschpagan(results.resid, X)
print(f"Breusch-Pagan p-value: {bp_test[1]:.4f}")

# Visualize residuals
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
plt.scatter(results.fittedvalues, results.resid)
plt.axhline(y=0, color='r', linestyle='--')
plt.xlabel('Fitted values')
plt.ylabel('Residuals')
plt.show()

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

statsmodels is a skill published in the GitHub repository dralkh/seerai (94 stars, last pushed 18d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 65 tokens to every session and 5,027 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. It is 92% identical to statsmodels, differing in 35 lines, and is treated as a copy.
