EdgeDelta Custom Docker Image Builder

The official agent images are at gcr.io/edgedelta/agent. Tags are platform-suffixed — there is no bare :latest manifest.

Common mistake: Using :latest, :v, or an unsuffixed tag results in pull failures or v0.0.0 version reporting.

The v0.0.0 Problem

The agent version is compiled into the binary via Go ldflags. It defaults to v0.0.0 if not set at build time. This happens when:

  1. Building from the source Dockerfile without passing --build-arg BUILD_VERSION=vX.Y.Z
  2. Using an invalid or placeholder image tag (:v, :latest without platform suffix)
