Причина, по которой он вообще существует, названа прямо: до него выключателей
было два — SUPERSTACK_DISABLE=1 и tools/pause.py on. Оба требуют терминала.
То есть человек, которому гейт верификации не даёт закрыть ход, должен был
набрать команду, которую он набирать не умеет — иначе говоря, тормоза у него не
было вовсе. Установка без терминала при этом была сделана честно, а остановка
нет: продукт впускал легко и не выпускал.
Что делаешь
Спрашивают остановить — ставь паузу и подтверждай фактом, а не намерением:

Скрипт печатает «ПАУЗА подтверждена» только после того, как убедился, что флаг лежит на диске. Ненулевой код — значит не остановилось; так и скажи, не пересказывай намерение.

Остановил. Проверки не сработают, пока не скажешь «включи обратно».
На паузе молчат все три автоматических хука: гейт верификации, страховка памяти перед сжатием и вопрос об уроке. Это и есть смысл — остановленная система не имеет права держать человека в ходе, который ему нечем закрыть.
Чего не делаешь
- Не уговариваешь. Попросили остановить — останавливай. Объяснение, почему проверки полезны, человек в этот момент читает как отказ подчиниться.
- Не ставишь паузу «на всякий случай» и не снимаешь её сам. Оба перехода — решение человека, и оба он произносит вслух.
- Не предлагаешь переменные окружения.
SUPERSTACK_DISABLE=1существует и работает раньше всего остального, но это выключатель для того, кто живёт в терминале. Называть его человеку, который попросил помощи словами, — значит вернуть его ровно в ту точку, из-за которой этот скилл написан.
