neqsim-multiphase-flow-slug-screening

neqsim-multiphase-flow-slug-screening is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from equinor/neqsim-community-skills. It costs 69 tokens per session (1,478 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

An educational screen for detecting possible slug flow in a gas-and-liquid pipeline and estimating first-pass slug-catcher volume. A slug catcher is equipment that temporarily receives large liquid slugs from a pipeline.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for coarse flow-regime checks and initial slug-catcher volume estimates from velocities, pipe size, and slug assumptions.
Why use it?
It helps identify slug-related design concerns before a validated multiphase-flow study.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Opus 5 $0.00034 $0.00739

Security

Grade A, and why

neqsim-multiphase-flow-slug-screening scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (examples/basic_slug_screening.py, src/multiphase_flow_slug_screening/__init__.py, src/multiphase_flow_slug_screening/model.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Multiphase Flow Slug Screening

Use this skill for public, educational multiphase slug-flow screening. It gives a coarse flow-regime indicator from superficial gas and liquid velocities and a first-pass slug-catcher volume estimate from slug geometry, so an agent can flag slug risk before moving to validated multiphase flow analysis.

When to Use

  • When a user asks whether a multiphase line is likely to be in a slug regime.
  • When an agent needs a quick slug-catcher volume order-of-magnitude to scope a flow-assurance study.
  • When examples must run without confidential pipeline geometry, project flow-assurance reports, or company multiphase guidelines.

Inputs

  • superficial_gas_velocity: superficial gas velocity in m/s.
  • superficial_liquid_velocity: superficial liquid velocity in m/s.
  • pipe_internal_diameter: pipe inside diameter in m.
  • slug_length_to_diameter: slug length expressed as a multiple of the diameter, default 30.0.
  • liquid_holdup_in_slug: liquid holdup in the slug body, dimensionless in (0, 1], default 0.8.
  • surge_factor: surge/safety factor on slug-catcher volume, default 1.2.
  • available_slug_catcher_volume: optional available slug-catcher volume in m3 for a capacity check.

Outputs

  • mixture_velocity_m_per_s: sum of the superficial gas and liquid velocities.
  • froude_number: mixture Froude number using the pipe inside diameter.
  • liquid_fraction: liquid superficial velocity divided by the mixture velocity.
  • flow_regime_indicator: coarse public regime label (gas-dominated, slug, liquid-dominated, transition).
  • estimated_slug_volume_m3: screening slug volume from slug geometry and holdup.
  • recommended_slug_catcher_volume_m3: slug volume scaled by the surge factor.
  • capacity_ratio: recommended over available slug-catcher volume when an available volume is given.
  • slug_warning: ok, watch, or high.
  • assumptions: public assumptions used by the placeholder model.

Engineering Method

The Python class SlugScreeningModel uses open, published concepts only:

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

neqsim-multiphase-flow-slug-screening is a skill published in the GitHub repository equinor/neqsim-community-skills (2 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 69 tokens to every session and 1,478 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
