neqsim-piping-flexibility-screening

neqsim-piping-flexibility-screening is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from equinor/neqsim-community-skills. It costs 80 tokens per session (1,441 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A screening calculation for the strength and movement of process piping. It estimates pressure stress, thermal expansion, expansion stress range, and whether a flange rating can handle the pressure.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to assess a hot pipe run, estimate its thermal movement, check simplified stress limits, and review a flange pressure rating. It supports early piping-flexibility studies.
Why use it?
Hot piping expands and restrained piping can develop significant stress, which may require an expansion loop or detailed stress analysis. This gives an early check before building a full pipe-stress model.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Security

Grade A, and why

neqsim-piping-flexibility-screening scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 4 executable files (examples/basic_piping_flexibility_screening.py, src/piping_flexibility_screening/__init__.py, src/piping_flexibility_screening/model.py, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Piping Flexibility Screening

Use this skill for public, educational piping-flexibility screening. It estimates hoop (sustained) stress, free thermal expansion, displacement (expansion) stress range against a simplified allowable, and a flange-rating pressure check so an agent can scope a pipe-flexibility study before detailed pipe-stress analysis.

When to Use

  • When a user asks whether a hot pipe run needs an expansion loop or whether a flange class is adequate.
  • When an agent needs a quick hoop-stress and thermal-expansion estimate for a process line.
  • When examples must run without confidential isometrics, stress-analysis models, or company piping specs.

Inputs

  • outside_diameter_mm: pipe outside diameter in mm.
  • wall_thickness_mm: pipe wall thickness in mm.
  • design_pressure_bar: internal design pressure in bar gauge.
  • design_temperature_c: design (operating) temperature in degrees Celsius.
  • pipe_length_m: straight run length in m.
  • install_temperature_c: installation/ambient temperature in degrees Celsius, default 20.
  • anchor_to_anchor: whether the run is fully restrained anchor-to-anchor, default True.
  • youngs_modulus_mpa: Young's modulus in MPa, default 200000.
  • thermal_expansion_coeff_per_k: mean thermal expansion coefficient per K, default 1.2e-5.
  • allowable_stress_mpa: material allowable stress in MPa, default 138.
  • flange_rating_class: optional ASME B16.5 flange class (e.g. 150, 300, 600).
  • flange_allowable_pressure_bar: optional flange allowable pressure at temperature in bar.

Outputs

  • hoop_stress_mpa: Barlow hoop (sustained) stress.
  • hoop_stress_ratio: hoop stress divided by allowable stress.
  • delta_temperature_k: design minus install temperature difference.
  • free_thermal_expansion_mm: unrestrained thermal growth of the run.
  • displacement_stress_mpa: displacement (expansion) stress estimate.
  • allowable_stress_range_mpa: simplified allowable stress range.
  • displacement_stress_ratio: displacement stress divided by the allowable range.
  • flange_pressure_ratio: design pressure divided by flange allowable pressure, or null.
  • stress_warning: ok, watch, hoop-stress-exceeded, or expansion-stress-exceeded.
  • flange_warning: ok, flange-overpressure, or no-rating.
  • assumptions: public assumptions used by the placeholder model.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
