revise-paper

revise-paper is a skill for Claude Code from Felpix-Studios/social-science-research. It costs 49 tokens per session (1,159 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guided workflow for applying requested changes from a review report to a research manuscript.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to revise a manuscript section by section after a review, using reports about substance, proofreading, or other paper issues.
Why use it?
It turns reviewer comments into a prioritized revision plan and keeps the author in control by requesting approval before edits.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00049 $0.01159
Opus 5 $0.00024 $0.00580
Sonnet 5 $0.00010 $0.00232
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00116

Security

Grade A, and why

revise-paper scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Revise Paper from Review Report

Systematically apply revisions from a review report to a manuscript. Follows Prose Track rules — never auto-edits without approval.

Input: $ARGUMENTS — path to a review report, or leave blank to auto-detect.

Step 1: Locate the Review Report

If $ARGUMENTS is provided, use that path. Otherwise glob for:

  • quality_reports/paper_review_*.md
  • quality_reports/*_substance_review.md
  • quality_reports/*_proofread.md

If multiple reports found, use AskUserQuestion:

  • header: "Review Report"
  • question: "Multiple review reports found. Which should I use for revisions?"
  • options: list found reports (label: filename, description: date and type). User can select one.

Step 2: Locate the Manuscript

Read the review report and extract the manuscript path from its File: field.

If the file doesn't exist at that path, glob for:

  • manuscripts/**/*.tex
  • manuscripts/**/*.qmd

If multiple manuscripts found, use AskUserQuestion to let the user pick.

Read the full manuscript.

Step 3: Parse the Review Report

Extract all actionable items and classify them:

Priority Source Section Action
Critical Major Concerns with "CRITICAL" or "BLOCKING" Must fix before any submission
Major Major Concerns, Referee Objections Should fix — a reviewer would flag these
Minor Minor Concerns, Specific Comments Polish — fix if time allows

For each item, extract:

  • The issue description
  • The suggested fix (if provided)
  • The location in the manuscript (section, line, table)

Step 4: Present Revision Plan (WAIT FOR APPROVAL)

Present the revision plan grouped by priority:

## Revision Plan

### Critical (N items) — must fix
1. [MC1: Title] — Section X — [brief description of fix]
2. ...

### Major (N items) — should fix
1. [MC2: Title] — Section Y — [brief description of fix]
2. ...

### Minor (N items) — polish
1. [mc1: Title] — Section Z — [brief description of fix]
2. ...

Total: N revisions across M sections.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

revise-paper is a skill published in the GitHub repository Felpix-Studios/social-science-research (8 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 49 tokens to every session and 1,159 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
