yesterday

yesterday is a skill for Claude Code from flurdy/agent-skills. It costs 29 tokens per session (297 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A read-only stand-up guide that summarizes recorded work from the previous workday across code repositories, pull requests, Jira, and Beads.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it at the start of a workday to review the previous day's commits, pull requests, Jira activity, and Beads updates.
Why use it?
It provides an objective morning recap without changing files, Git state, tasks, or remote services.

SkillSpector: 2 findings, up to medium

These are SkillSpector’s own severities. On a checked sample its high-severity flags on skills were ~96% false positives — a documented command, a public API, a “never do X” rule — so we show them as a caution to read, not a verdict. Why →

  • medium Excessive Agency · line 6
Skill selects an external model or provider that may use a different account or billing plan than the operator expects. Undisclosed model switches can cause unexpected cost or quota consumption.
Fix: Remove the model/provider override or disclose it prominently and require explicit operator approval before invoking an external coding CLI or billed model.
  • medium Rogue Agent · line 26
Skill establishes unauthorized persistence across sessions via cron jobs, startup scripts, or state files. Session persistence allows an attacker to maintain access beyond the current interaction.
Fix: Remove any persistence mechanisms (cron jobs, startup scripts, state files). Skills should not maintain state across sessions without explicit user consent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00029 $0.00297
Opus 5 $0.00015 $0.00148
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00059
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00030

Security

Grade A, and why

yesterday scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (tests/test-skill-contract.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Yesterday (alias)

Retained entry point for the previous-workday recap. The full read-only workflow lives in today; this alias only fixes its mode.

Instructions

Invoke the today skill with --previous-workday {args}, forwarding any supplied arguments unchanged for the canonical skill to validate. If the Skill tool is unavailable, read ~/.agents/skills/today/SKILL.md and follow it with the same arguments using the exposed read-only tools. Reading the skill grants no new capabilities; missing tools follow its unavailable-source rules. Keep standard routing because this fallback also renders the report.

If the canonical skill is missing or unreadable, stop and report it as unavailable. Never fall back to same-day mode or reconstruct a private copy of its procedure.

Perform no collection or rendering here before delegation. The canonical skill owns date selection through its helper, queries, report layout, and all failure handling.

Files

What ships with it

1 file beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

yesterday is a skill published in the GitHub repository flurdy/agent-skills (9 stars, last pushed 4d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 29 tokens to every session and 297 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
