agentshield-security-review

agentshield-security-review is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from giang6283623/minimal-vibe-coding-kit. It costs 162 tokens per session (1,201 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A security-review workflow for repositories that configure AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, Grok, and Kimi.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inventory agent-related files and integrations, run an available security scanner, and separate scanner-backed findings from manual observations.
Why use it?
Agent instructions, hooks, commands, and tool connections can create security risks that a normal source-code review may miss.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for Claude Code and Codex: Claude Code plugin machinery, but also agents/openai.yaml present. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions Claude Code.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00162 $0.01201
Opus 5 $0.00081 $0.00600
Sonnet 5 $0.00032 $0.00240
Haiku 4.5 $0.00016 $0.00120

Security

Grade A, and why

agentshield-security-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/agentshield_repo_probe.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AgentShield Security Review

Use this skill to run an AgentShield-style review for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, Grok, and Kimi repositories. Treat the repo root as the source of truth, then inspect agent surfaces before normal code review.

Core rule

Do not invent findings. Prefer deterministic scanner output when available, then add reviewer judgment separately. Clearly label each finding as scanner-backed, manual-confirmed, or manual-suspected.

Standard workflow

  1. Identify the repo root and active harness surfaces.
  2. Run node .vibekit/scripts/agentshield-probe.mjs . to inventory active provider surfaces, shared skills, hooks, MCP, commands, and repo instruction files.
  3. Check whether the scanner is already installed locally:
    npm ls ecc-agentshield --depth=0 --ignore-scripts

If it is unavailable, use the fallback manual review by default. Fetching and executing a package is a separate trust decision; request approval before using the exact reviewed version.
  4. With a local install or explicit approval, run the version-pinned scanner from the repo root:
npx [email protected] scan --path . --format text

  5. If JSON is needed for CI or automation, run:
npx [email protected] scan --path . --format json

  6. If safe auto-fixes are requested, first summarize the proposed edits, then run:
npx [email protected] scan --path . --fix

  7. Re-run the scan after fixes and report before/after score, severity counts, and changed files.
  8. If AgentShield is unavailable or package execution is not approved, perform the fallback manual review in references/review-checklist.md.

Harness-native layout

Use a shared root skill where possible:

  • .vibekit/skills/agentshield-security-review/SKILL.md is the canonical workflow.
  • Claude Code may add a slash-command shim in .vibekit/commands/security-scan.md or .claude/commands/security-scan.md.
  • Codex and OpenCode consume the shared .agents/skills/ registry. Codex may additionally use .codex-plugin/plugin.json; OpenCode uses .opencode/commands/ and its root opencode.json permissions.
  • Do not duplicate divergent Claude, Codex, and OpenCode skill bodies. Duplication causes drift.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
